Been married nearly twenty years & the wife disclosed she can’t eat them raw as they give her mouth ulcers, news to me ?!? then I thought oh yeah I normally take them off her plate when she’s left them. But it got me thinking, where would we be without the humble tomato? I love em in every shape or form, they’re in absolutely everything

Love them but increasingly they are going straight through me which isn’t pleasant at all.

No idea why but I fear I’m suddenly becoming intolerant to them.

Been growing a few this year (first time)....taste lovely.

Ours have grown nicely, but struggling to get them to ripen at present, watered regularly and in good shape, plenty of sunshine (for round here) but not turning red.
Seem to read quite a bit that they need around 2 weeks of constant sunshine to ripen, so, any tips mate ?

Kitchen window sill me Ol Nan used to say, everything needs kissing by the sun

Lemon, tamarind, coconut can all do what the tomato does to some degree. If you consider that tomatoes were native to the Americas and have only been around for a few hundred years globally then most cultures never used them til recently... They would have had alternatives
