People keep saying this and it baffles me. Midfield was *by far* our weakest position last season. We had a chronic lack of players.

Agreed although I think a back four consisting of currently (below) is not good enough:

RB - One from - Zabaleta/Richards/Ned/Boateng

CB - Two From - Toure/Lescott/Kompany/Boateng/Richards/Ned

LB - One from - Bridge/Garrido/Lescott/Boateng


Can we please, sometime soon announce the signings of David Luiz and Kolarov......then we can sign another 10 midfielders if we want!!!!!!

If we are buying beyond the 19th and we get all our targets how many more are we looking at?

Previously said seven in total, if everything pans out.

Don't hear anything currently to suggest otherwise.

With anything up to ten out in various forms or another.
 
I can't find the quote but during last season Mancini publicly berated Hughes more or less for leaving him pretty much stranded for central midfielders aside from NDJ, SI and GB.

Now that we're in European Competition then I'm pretty sure he'll add more to the midfield given the increase in the number of games we'll play next season and fear of injuries and suspensions limiting his options.
