Update

Adam Keyworth (prestwichblue92, @adamkeyworth on Twitter) is running the project to have an advert placed in La Gazzetta Dello Sport in response to Mancini's advert in the MEN from the City fans.

He now has an image and is waiting on a quote from La Gazzetta.

The message will be:

Il Blue non si lascia piu
You never leave the Blues

For all intents and purposes; once a blue, always a blue, which unfortunately doesn't meaningfully translate into Italian.

Hoping to be in Monday or Tuesday's paper.

Details of how to donate through Paypal to follow.

----------------------------------------------------------

Original post:
Henry Winter of the Telegraph tweeted this earlier:

After Mancini's MEN 'grazie', some #mcfc fans discussing taking out an ad in @Gazzetta_it to thank Mancini. Great idea.

I presumed he'd seen a thread on here but it would appear not.

I suppose it's possible he could have just spoken to a few City fans but it makes more sense that he'd have seen it on a forum (or similar).

Anyone know where he got his information from?

For what it's worth, I think it's a great idea.

Mate that translation isn't correct, it translates to 'The blue you never leave anymore' It should be;

I blu non gli lasci mai

Not my translation, in fact, the whole thing's nothing to do with me really, I'm just keeping bluemoon updated as I started a thread based on something Henry Winter posted on Twitter and since the details came out plenty of posters have taken an interest.

The lad running it is Adam Keyworth, username prestwichblue92, he said he got the translation from Italian journalists. I suggest you pm him though.

We can sort that later on, for now let's hope Gazzetta don't gazump us here.

Roberto Mancini best pain killer ever, put an end to 35 and 44 years pain suffered by this supporter. God bless and wish you every sucess wherever you are. CTID

This is all going to come down to whatever we are quoted from Gazzetta. If it is too extortionate then it's just not feasible.

Do you have an idea of how much we might be able to raise?

On a scale of one to ten..How bored must you be to even suggest stuff like this seriously ffs ;-)

As someone who felt the decision to sack him was right, I think it's a great idea.

It doesn't matter if you thought he couldn't take us any farther, he deserves the respect of every City fan for what he achieved.

Just like Paul Dickov et al

If it is too expensive, can we tweet Mario to tell them to get us a discount (otherwise no interview with him).

I have to say, this thread and the response from Blues wanting to take out an ad in gazetta has made me feel bad about what i said about mancini's ad. i think this is a really cool and classy thing to do which shows i shouldn't have been such a cynical twat about mancini doing it.

That's a nice touch Billy.

I've been wrong about stuff on more occasions than I'd care to remember, but I've never admitted to it...

Does it hurt?

;)

I'll get jumped on for this but who gives a fuck. He will get his name sang loudly and proudly all game tomorrow. He's a multi millionaire partially due to Manchester City. Job done.

It isn't a matter who gives a fuck!

Roberto has thanked the fans publicly, we should do the same imo

There's a lot of emotion running high due to the uncertainty which is inevitable when transitioning to a new manager. I'm looking forward to the transfer window and a clean slate next season. We will say goodbye to this season tomorrow and our former manager.

And then we focus on taking back our title.
