is there a city friendly journo that could sort this for us?

Jack Pitt Brooke who works for either the Telegraph or the Daily Mail is a blue, he used to do a blog on City (The Lonesome Death Of Roy Carroll). He might be worth contacting.
Jack works for The Independent.

Once a Blue, always a Blue

Apropos of nothing in particular, my local Thai Premier League team play in orange. Their club motto is 'Once an Orange, Always an Orange' :-)

Chuckle, always tickles me that moo is pig and cow, rice!

I have to say, this thread and the response from Blues wanting to take out an ad in gazetta has made me feel bad about what i said about mancini's ad. i think this is a really cool and classy thing to do which shows i shouldn't have been such a cynical twat about mancini doing it.

Great news Adam.

Have you finalised a meaningful translation?

Yes, we are having it in Italian, with the English underneath:

Il Blue non si lascia piu. (You never leave the Blues)

That's from a few Italian journos as Once a Blue doesn't translate properly by all accounts.

Prestwichblue92.

Haven't been read all the thread yet, so I don't know what the exact wording/layout will be. However, as a backdrop to the message what about a picture of the City fans doing the Poznan?

Regardless, the Poznan will always be associated with Mancini's tenure as Manager at City, along with his title success, FA Cup success, and the FA Cup semi-final victory against........ :-)

Just a thought. :-) (there are plenty of other Poznan pictures doing the rounds, which may be better?)

Update

Adam Keyworth (prestwichblue92, @adamkeyworth on Twitter) is running the project to have an advert placed in La Gazzetta Dello Sport in response to Mancini's advert in the MEN from the City fans.

He now has an image and is waiting on a quote from La Gazzetta.

The message will be:

Il Blue non si lascia piu
You never leave the Blues

For all intents and purposes; once a blue, always a blue, which unfortunately doesn't meaningfully translate into Italian.

Hoping to be in Monday or Tuesday's paper.

Original post:
Henry Winter of the Telegraph tweeted this earlier:

After Mancini's MEN 'grazie', some #mcfc fans discussing taking out an ad in @Gazzetta_it to thank Mancini. Great idea.

I presumed he'd seen a thread on here but it would appear not.

I suppose it's possible he could have just spoken to a few City fans but it makes more sense that he'd have seen it on a forum (or similar).

Anyone know where he got his information from?

For what it's worth, I think it's a great idea.

Mate that translation isn't correct, it translates to 'The blue you never leave anymore' It should be;

I blu non gli lasci mai

Well said Billy.

Takes a big man to admit he was wrong, especially publicly.

This is all going to come down to whatever we are quoted from Gazzetta. If it is too extortionate then it's just not feasible.
