Both of those examples are very odd behaviour if you ask me.
If Foden went and signed for Bayern to play for Kompany next Summer, I wouldn’t dream of going to a game over there in an England top with Foden on the back or taking an England flag over with me to the game. I’d expect to get a kicking.
And it would be even stranger behaviour to see any German fans doing it.
I have to admit back in the early 80’s I actually said I couldn't watch a city team with Argentinians in it!!!! A little bitterness after the 81 cup Final. Obviously had to eat my words and really glad I did.I think it’s even more odd that it winds you up.
Nothing wrong with the national flag thing IMO.
Did you used to shush people when we sang the ‘Argentinian blues’ song?

I usually wear a Melbourne City baseball cap to games in winter as my City ones have shrunk though washing .I don’t even like seeing New York City shirts.
wasn't that just celtic and rangers or a union jack?Is it not just the outside sellers who sell half and half scarfs.
Fan use to wear half and half hats years and years ago.
This is exactly why we need to form a demanding independent campaogn group who will act more pragmaticly on key issues. The erosion of the atmosphere at away games, especially the bigger ones has been going on for a number of years and it's partly our own fault as a fanbase.
An I'm alright Jack attitude was manifested by supporters higher up the chain and many have watched as hundreds/thousands of blues who, might not attend every away game, have slowly been eroded out of the away game support completely.
Who they've been replaced with are nobodies that have no affiliation or love for City whatsoever. They just happen to have a few more quid and the club are willing to lap dance to them.
Now, the atmosphere in what are our most important away games can be sterile and flat. It's frankly embarrassing that it's got to this stage.
An away crowd is special, it's unique and should be celebrated by all connected with the club, most of all by its own support.
Fans on 26k aren't arsed about those on 25k.

So on and so forth
Us as supporters really should have made more of an effort to force the club to respect our away support and discourage them from siphoning off tickets to all and sundry for extra cash or 'spreading the brand'. A fair and transparent distribution of away game tickets (especially for the in demand games) should have been implemented ages ago. One whereas the vast bulk of the tickets go to the loyal supporters that have supported the club for years, with maybe a small percentage going to some sort of ballot for those that are just starting as an away game supporter.
Points awarded as they used to be with maybe less glamour fixtures earning more points than Utd away. Police the system and younger supporters would likely soon catch up and get higher up the ladder with regard points for bigger games.
The whole set up nowadays is like the wild west and has caused division amongst the fanbase. Maybe that was the intention though.
I agree and I'd love to see a truly fan focused group set up that the club are forced to engage with and listen to.This is exactly why we need to form a demanding independent campaogn group who will act more pragmaticly on key issues.
We need to hold the club's feet to the fire publicly on a few key longterm issues.
The OSC & 1894 wont rock the boat as the club continues to to exploit and ignore our core fan base.
More direct action / protests are one way of challenging the club and holding it to public account.
Didn't we have that with "points of blue"...any fan could turn up to meetings in the boardroom. (I did once)I agree and I'd love to see a truly fan focused group set up that the club are forced to engage with and listen to.
I'm not sure mate.Didn't we have that with "points of blue"...any fan could turn up to meetings in the boardroom. (I did once)
I used to go to Points of Blue. Compared to that, the club hang onto City Matters every word.Didn't we have that with "points of blue"...any fan could turn up to meetings in the boardroom. (I did once)
Yep, I've seen some comments on here saying if you can't afford it don't go, priorities etcThe erosion of the atmosphere at away games, especially the bigger ones has been going on for a number of years and it's partly our own fault as a fanbase.

Me neither. I don’t support any of the other clubs in the CFG, I never have and just because they’re owned by the same people who own City doesn’t mean I ever will.I don’t even like seeing New York City shirts.
How exactly do we force the club to engage? We have City Matters but the club pay lip service at best to points raised.I agree and I'd love to see a truly fan focused group set up that the club are forced to engage with and listen to.
I went in 2004 after being arrested for standing upI'm not sure mate.
What year was points of blue set up and did we have the issues then as we do now?
Either way, the club need to be made aware of the negative affect that this pursuit of casual fan money is having on our fanbase and it's ability to create an organic atmosphere at games. Both home and away.
Long term supporters in general don't want different random tourists next to them every other week.
I might be speaking for myself but I love the fact that on Premier League games, it's pretty much the same regular faces that I see around me at every home game. All displaying a similar amount of passion for City.
My match day experience will be severely affected if that's diluted to make way for more casual support.
I'm not sure fella. I think that ship has probably sailed anyway. How exactly do we force the club to engage? We have City Matters but the club pay lip service at best to points raised.
@M18CTID - were you on the Eccles coach mate? That happened 2 minutes after I got back on the coach and was right next to the window where my seat was. I didn’t see it as I wasn’t looking and only noticed something had happened when I heard the commotion. One of the other lads on our coach saw it as he was walking almost alongside him. He did fuck-all wrong. There were some other Liverpool fans gobbing off but it wasn’t him. Someone dived off the coach behind ours and sparked the fan out from behind. The guy on our coach who saw it all said his head hit the floor with a sickening thud. Liverpool fan or not, proper ****’s trick that. He was out cold for a good 4 or 5 minutes. There were City fans trying to justify an innocent fan being knocked out ffs. One said he stumbled before he hit the floor which was utter horseshit.
I was on the Cheadle coach mate. I was only going off what another City fan on that coach said he saw so it wasn’t a scouse version of events! He insisted the one who was smacked had done nothing wrong but there were a group of them right nearby who had been gobbing off. The ones who he said had been mouthing off reappeared about 10 minutes later after the fan who was knocked to the ground had come round. They seemed to find the whole episode rather funny and didn’t appear to care about the Liverpool fan on the receiving end, and then a couple of minutes later they fucked off@M18CTID - were you on the Eccles coach mate?
Spoke to a good friend of the lad who threw the punch last night, I also know the lad and the bus he was on. He's a regular Blue, never causes trouble and it takes a lot to wind him up....and....guess what...it's a very different picture to the one that has been scousewashed on various socials.
This scouser WAS causing shit and got right in the face of the Blue and screamed dirty Manc scum at him. He was told to pipe down, but continued. He was told to fuck off and continued. Eventually, after one last "make me you Manc ****", he was lamped. He fell, cracked his head on an uneven paving slab. The Blue was arrested and spent the night in the nick. He was let out next day with NO charges. The dibble had seen the build up to the incident and witnessed the provocation. It's also telling that the scouser decided NOT to press charges too.
Apparently, in typical City gallows humour, a Blue walked by and said "that's the only shot on target we've seen all fucking day". Even the coppers were sniggering.
Scouse cunts.
