A sincere apology to the Mancini outers.

There is absolutely no need to apologise to anyone or to don the sackcloth and ashes. Roberto Mancini brought the FA cup and PL title to this club. There is now only Arsene Wenger left in the PL who has actually done this at their club. Most of the "outers" wanted simply that - Mancini out. Those who had the vaguest idea of a replacement went in the large part for Mourinho in the belief that eye gouging was the kind of motivational skills our manager needed. Klop, who refuses to leave Dortmund for anyone, was the second favourite. There was simply no "Pellegrini in" group until he emerged as the clear choice of the board. Now, the "in" and "out" question is no longer an issue since Pellegrini is "in", and I've been impressed with his work and pronouncements so far. I stress that my loyalty is to City and no particular individual, but it is very, far too, early to judge. And in the euphoria at the quality of our play at times in some of our pre season matches we have to remember just how superb we were for by far the greater part of the '11-'12 season. I add also that we have had a good transfer window - and it may get even better - but that 3 of the players bought were targets before the managerial change. This window is, of course, very different from last summer, and that was not Mancini's "fault". Let us see how the season goes, when the real games begin.

This transfer window has been different to any other since the takeover IMO.

You can tell this transfer window has been carried out quickly and effectively. More importantly we have signed players who have been hand-picked to suit our system and complement Pellegrini's and Txiki's ideology.

I honestly believe that if Mancini was still here he would have been demanding the likes of Cavani and Bale rather than Negrado and Navas.

IMO the direction we were taking in the transfer market under Txiki did not appeal to RM and when the manager and DoF clash over ideas it makes one of their position untenable. Unfortunately for Mancini our DoF had just been brought in by our new CEO which meant there was only ever going to be one winner.

Txiki has carried out our business like Heisenberg with the prison scene at the end of Breaking Bad. Immaculate well timed execution.

I'd be more worried if we had a manager that everyone agreed on.
I think we've got one now mate - or at least until the first league defeat :)))
The thing is strongbow
Bad start and its inevitable threads will pop up saying pellegrini out
Sad really but you know it will happen

They started in September/October abt Mancini last year.

There's always the refugee thread. :-) Although I hope, we've less need of it this season.

I liked Mancini and will never forget the contribution he made to this club, for me he is a Man City legend. The thing is we are on a path to being a global club and I am not sure that he could have taken us much further. I think that MP can take us to the next level and I am very excited about the new season. The situation with Mark Hughes was similar as was the reaction from the fans at his sacking.

I'm waiting for the first "he's from Chile so what the fuck does he know about the Premier League?" comment!

Clearly I want Pellegrini to sweep all before him and win absolutely everything. However, if it doesn't work out, I just hope we've learned the lessons and do things somewhat differently if we get to a stage where Los Dos feel it may be time for a change.

A few knew more about what was happening behind the scenes, the rest of us didn't and here lies the problem.

No need for a sorry, I was anti sacking, but I won't be apologising.

Sorry if I've upset anyone......

Must admit can't believe folk slagging the Spanish boys off
SOMEONE even called them a pair of idiots if they didn't get Mourinho :)

Read the quips made about the two spaniards on vairous threads. Where is Bob Klulesski? I miss is parables of drivel about why were are all wrong and how he was handed a 5 yr deal and the 2 spaniards made a pigs ear out of it all.

Do you and others now see that the reason it was messy is because Barca leaked it because we got Pellegrini and he was their choice to take over from Tito. It was messy because it was beyond our control. If we weren't careful and assertive we would and could have ended up with a David Moyes :(
I think you mean Benito Nip, Tito was quite a different cove.

Benito Bob, that has a ring to it :)

Tito was ill, Barca made plans and their plan was Pellegrini. We got Pellegrini as well as tapping up some people I can't mention and they reacted by leaking info at a bad time which proved fatal on a football level. The rest they say is history, just like Bob, thankfully :)

Anyway, we move on. It's all about Manuel now. I could not care about anything other than our future really. I genuinely think we will win the league and I think we will be the team we are capable of being.

I hope for last 8 of CL,
League winners,
Do as well as possible in Cups but for youth to be a focus in both comps.

Jovetic will be the signing of the summer imo. The other three are all great too but Jovetic will be special for us.

.....

Yep. Although the signs were there on the pitch too for anyone who looked closely enough.
