A smell and a sound that remind you of Maine Road...

The push and shout on exiting the kippax through those large opened exits.
The smell of 2p in your hand to get in.
Piss on my trousers or legs.(wearing shorts)

Those were the days. Proper football matches.

definately pipe tobacco....a guy we used to sit beside in the north stand, when I was about 5 or 6 used to smoke this sweet smelling pipe baccy, and used to share his foxes glacier mints with us..walked past a guy in Edinburgh about 5 years ago who was smoking it, and it took me right back to the mid seventies, sat watching big Joe Corrigan, with my blue and white bar scarf, with big asa hartford, willie donachie and Peter Barnes badges on...happy days!

Balti pies and me and Dave Wallace (no not the king of the kippax editor :p although we had some fun about that lol ) singing we`re not really here whilst rolling into the kippax 10 mins after kickoff (superstitions an stuff :p) The real good ol days for me !

The smell of a freshly laid, steaming horse turd in the alley between the Kippax and the Platt Lane, and the sound of the pissed up/strange guy who week after week tried starting "City, City, the best team in the land and all the world".............it caught on eventually!!!

spliffs, fags, pipes, farts, the spitty dribble on my own scarf

the sound of the bell at the start of each half

the ink on the program to cover my face

the groans and the shouting as the pens been misplaced

petrol lighters cigars and sweat

the noise of the buses as we had no met.
