A thread about protesters

If the vigil was allowed to go ahead , didnt see scousers or rangers fan getting pushed over with two hands and arrested

Po!ice them all the same or not at all
Are you referring to the red head girl kaz? I read a quote today from one of the press photographers that she was asked and asked for twenty minutes to get down of the bandstand yet continued to just goad the police, where does the line get drawn? That bandstand was covered in flowers, did they remove them and put them in a vase before clambering onto the bandstand to lead chants of "fuck the police"

I actually went to the one in Piccadilly gardens with my girlfriend, kept to ourselves on the periphery and when I thought it might get a little out of hand we fucked off home.
I bet half of them was waiting for someone to start bricking stores so they can start robbing

On Fahrenheit 11-9, there was a group of politicised teenagers on there who said, “we don’t listen to our parents, they’re nobody, we’re the first generation in human history who haven’t been brought up by our parents, we’ve been brought up by social media”.

No not her , other footage of one women being pushed off the bandstand with two hands and other pushed about ,it was policed all wrong , women have as much right to ho!d a peaceful vigil , they had masks , stewards , hand sanitiser etc , safe as outside is mainly

Kate was there , no mask , she didnt get bothered as i said in the other thread , the police should have stood off then there wouldnt have been a problem

These flowers, I just don’t get that. Cheap petrol station flowers littering the place, plastic wrapping paper, really naff. Give the money to charity and then stand in silence, maybe with a candle. Surely that’s a vigil. All this crap started with Diana’s funeral, then every sheep has to do it.

Protest is a legitimate and important part of democracy. I've been on genuine demos in the past and there was no trouble. That starts when outsiders with an agenda hijack the event. London Sunday: There was a slogan board held up which said: "Get the fascist police off our streets."
Draw your own conclusion.

Could you be a bit more specific...
All of it is typical looking down on people , ask every woman in your life if they have been flashed at, harrassed by groups of men walking down the street or touched up in their lives let alone more serious assaults , if they are scared walking on their own after dark , they are allowed to stand together and protest it, you shouldnt have to think about safety any more than men do

This was a vigil, a silent nod to sarah and safety walking home

Good luck with the thread, OP. I‘m sure it will be a magnet for posters of open mind and moderate opinion to engage in friendly, balanced discourse.
Sort of reflects the dynamic around the protests. I'm sure 99.99% of us all agree that we need to save the environment, treat black people fairly, and not rape /beat women, but somehow we end up so divided.

I think most people on here would agree, it's not the people who originally decided to hold the 'vigil' that were the issue but a group of 'scum' who hijacked it for their own agenda.

Not with the current lockdown rules they aren’t.

Once they’re lifted, anyone can crack on with any protests or vigils they want. At the moment, no, not for any reason whatsoever should anyone be standing together and protesting.

And when things are back to normal, at the first sight of someone looking like they’re not there for the reason of the protest or vigil, people should be working with the Police on the spot to whistle blow on these opportunist anarchists and get rid of them. Nobody should be defending these fuckers.

TBF there seems to be pretty much unanimous support for the viewpoint that these "protestors" are in the main, arseholes.

Its not a vigil though is it. It was so predictable that it would get hijacked by all the looney tunes . Rent a mob are never far away in London. I agree with your sentiments . I have a daughter and granddaughters & I constantly worry about them but I also worry about my sons and grandsons safety as well.
