Fuck me some old fucking codgers on this thread. Suprised none of you have mentioned the Peterloo riots

And no mention of the Hac

The fucking hanging bogs in piccadilly gardens and all the tramps leathered on the lawns

And about 30 phone boxes around each corner of the gardens.

And these things everywhere.

Fucking hell, ended up here on christmas eve just gone, no idea how this place is still open with the trouble they've had there over the years. A right dump but one of the best nights I've had.

Too young to contribute much to this but I'm surprised not to see more mention of the Hacienda and the Thunderdome.

It was the Peterloo massacre as for the Hac it was over rated full of tourists like the swamp.

That old building standing out on its own and patch of wasteland at Hanging Ditch. Had a Hertz rent a car place on it too. Looked bloody awful and a real eyesore, but when I was a kid getting the bus into town, it meant you'd arrived!

I never knew about the subway near Kendals. Where exactly was it and what is there now?

kendals were on either side of the street so had a subway you could use rather than risk crossing deansgate.
it will still be there but I'm sure its block off once across the road. waterstones are on one side house of fraser the other.

Slightly more recent times:

pissing about on the travelators at the airport when wagging school.

Just talking to people at work about it, they both remember it but I've never seen it.

Good stuff.
