Aaron Mooy

Big gap in quality, he's got his level, 7 -12 in the Prem, not good enough for us .
Is there though? When you look at the Raheem playing for England and the one that plays for is you'd say there was a huge gulf in those 2 players. All i see in Mooy is a worker who has very good passing ability and someone who is exceptional at retaining posession. He could easily cover the Ilkay role and add cover for Fern. Much orefer to see the youth given that chance though personally

Has to be one of the players of the World Cup so far. Definately not your show pony but when it comes to possession and retention of the ball this is why he is such an undervaued player.
Taking into account the international team he plays for, the players around him, and the levels of teams Australia came up against and I'd be hard pressed to tell you another player during those group stages who had a better tournament.
Would definitely be in my 16 players from the group stages and most probably makes the starting 11.

Isnt he home grown as well? Can he play the Gundogen or Fernandinho role? Firstly he would be more than an adequate replacement for Gundogan and if Pep is interested then thats fine by me, and could he become a natural successor to the Ferna. Thats what excites me, Mooy would be good enough to cover 2 positions and not kust the Gundogen position in the squad that many are mentioning. He could cover more positions giving the squad more depth and for me not that big a loss of quality, esoecially from the starting 11
Agreed

Would have him over Gundogan any day.

If we'd any other coach, that's probably a stupid statement, but look at what Delph has turned into under Pep. Mooy has the engine we need and all the other attributes.

Do you mean we should sell Gundogan and buy back Mooy? Not very good forward planning that. I think Gundog deserves another season (could of done without being in Russia mind) to see if he can regather his pre-injury form. This of course may not be easy so it will be a make or break one for him methinks. As for Mooy can't see how his relatively good performances for Australia will change things much with respect to bringing him back and I don't think he is as good as the old Gundog under klipperty.

Had about 3 good games for Huddersfield at the start of the season then vanished until April....clearly not good enough for us

That was his level last season.

His level the season before that was lower (top team in the Championship)

His level the season before that was lower than that (Australian league)

Neither you nor anyone else knows his level until he he has been tested and failed.

I like him but he won’t be playing for City again. Hard to compare him with Gundogan because we’ve still not seen him anywhere near his best for us.
My worry is that we never will.

Only if City want to sell, merely pointing out he could do a job

I like this quote.
There are players who should be the next big thing and end up doing diddly, and there are players who over achieve. Whoever he plays for I hope this guy proves all the naysayers wrong
