Abdukodir Khusanov

Let's not forget Mangala was also very fast, besides any half decent attacker would have already done the damage like three seconds before he arrived
As of today, still I don't understand how the hell we managed to fuck up Mangala signing. Did he all of a sudden turned into shit after playing excellent debut match against Chelsea or our scouts did fuck all when they identified him as potential signing?

It's a complete mystery to me.

Amazing how many people on social media now have strong opinions on an Uzbek footballer with 25 league games in the French league
There was a period between 2010 and 2018 when I tried to watch as much football as possible, and it got to the point where I sort of knew about every signing we made. It killed a bit of the excitement, in all honesty, and it became a competition to know more than the next guy about Bernardo Silva, Fernando, Demichelis, whoever. Since the pandemic I've tuned out of so much football that's not City, which means we're signing dozens of players who are completely unknown to me and it's added a lot of fun back in.

No idea who this Khusanov lad is, except from little bits I've read today. Apparently he's young, presumably not injury prone, and an option we can use in defence. At the moment, that's more than enough for me, lol. Of course, my ignorance around new signings has only been made so comfortable by just trusting Pep to nurture them into better players than they otherwise would have been. Who the fuck was chasing players like Ruben Dias or Rodri before we signed them? They weren't exactly linked with all and sundry, were they? But I'll stay this way even after Pep goes tbh.

Mangala was blessed with terrific strength, good height, decent technique, and incredible speed. However, he was also cursed with a brain that rendered him incapable of ever getting those four attributes to work together.

I went through a similar time where I'd have a football match on at every single waking moment of the day or night. I'd watch everything. And I still didn't feel qualified to comment.
Shit, I've watched Rico Lewis 100 times and I still can't work out how good he is.
Even if they watched every single game he's ever played, 25 games in the French midtable is not enough information to start making waves about how he's better than Akanji. These kids on X think because they signed him on FIFA or FM then they know them. Our Talent ID staff, professionals who are academically qualified and have long term experience doing the job, won't be able to be certain about how a player turns out. How @KDB_szn_8293 knows, I don't know.

I think the only player that managed to maintain his standard under Pellegrini was KDB, Even players like Yaya and Silva became so poor, at some point I thought I was watching Steed Malbranque play for us. Pellegrini was an atrocious manager, had nothing on Mancini
