Sorry...... I didn't mean any offence

Have been to Wembley twice with City and been so proud to sing this anthem. As far as I can recall (and it was a long time ago) we only sang the first and last verse, maybe I am wrong but I am sure we did. I am not able to make the final but will be singing it along with you at home and I am sure that the supporters there will give it there all.

Stoke fan (in peace)
Lots of talk on our board's of bringing back the hymn singing in a big way and making this remembered as a throw back to yesteryear* when Wembley was packed and the whole crowd belted it out. I've seen some footage of clueless Utd and Chelsea fan's not singing and looking gormless while it's played so plenty of scope for improvement. Given the combined total of years since either team bothered the silver polisher it should be emotional so let's give it everything.
*Although I'm drawing the line at a cloth cap and rattle.

That's the spirit!

-- Thu May 05, 2011 6:30 pm --

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me!

il be singing this because i love tradition and also in respect of my dads best friend who would be there on saturday but sadly passed away......so...... BUMP :D

Sung this at my Grandmas funeral last summer, will be very touching and i'm looking forward to it. Nout beats that emotion even if it's sad it's one you cherish.

I'll be belting it out for my uncle who died in January, my mum who died in 1999, me dad in 1991 and all the other blue boys and girls who won't make this one.
