a) Barry and Garcia were the two worst players on the pitch on Saturday.
b) How's he ever going to fulfill his potential if he never plays?
c) Gives him the opportunity to stake a claim for a place in the team for the remaining games this season, especially the big game with Chelsea the following weekend.
d) This is the best opportunity Mancini has had to give him a start since he came back from injury.

Think we have to make several changes, Mancini has to send out a message after what happened on Saturday, simple as.

Not being cocky here but Chelsea turned up to Elland Road in disarray earlier in the season and won 5-1.

2nd in the league is hardly what I would call disarray. Should win this comfortably.

Anyone who was surprised about the performance against Southampton shouldn't have been. It's been coming for months. Symptomatic of a laisez-faire attitude all season - regardless of the lack of summer signings - you mentally rest on your laurels or drop off 5% when everyone is gunning for you then you will eventually get caught out.

Last point - for all the Gaz Baz knockers -the Liverpool/Southampton performances were bound to come - he has basically been doing the job of two midfielders with Yaya mentally on holiday all season (probably due to lack of competition) and Garcia in the team basically to block of the lines and win balls in the air - for a guy his age - he has had far too much ground to cover - the guy is knackered!
