Academy Players introduced to First Team 2015/16

I try and keep up with the Academy as much as I can, and got to a handful of games last season.

I know we have a lot of potential in our academy, but who do you think is actually ready to make the step up this season?

Personally, I'd like to see Jason Denayer, Manu Garcia & Marcos Lopes being introduced to the first team - and not just the FA Cup 3rd Round against Yeovil (or whoever we get), but actually a good run of chances in the Premier League! I'd like to see Brandon Barker too, but can't see 3 midfielders being given the chance, considering the number of established first team midfielders we have!

I think Kelechi is an obvious one, but I haven't suggested him as 1) We only really signed him in January so hasn't really come through our academy, and 2) Pellegrini has already said he'll be in and around the first team.

Thought it would be interesting to go back to this thread and see where the players I wanted to see come through our Youth Team actually ended up:

Jason Denayer - Loans at Celtic, Galatasaray, Sunderland & Galatasaray again, before a permanent move to Lyon (102 Apps) and now in Saudi Pro League after a year in Dubai!

Manu Garcia - Loans at Alaves, NAC Breda, and Toulouse, before a permanent move to Sporting Gijon (75 Apps), another loan to Alaves, and now playing for Aris in Greece.

Marcos Lopes - Loaned to Lille, before signing permanently to Monaco (65 Apps) before a loan to Lille. Then a permanent move to Sevilla (9 Apps) and been loaned out to Nice, Olympiakos, and Troyes.

Brandon Barker - Loans to Rotherham, NAC Breda, Hibs, and Preston North End, before a permanent move to Rangers - who then loaned him out to Oxford United. He then went to Reading where he played 4 times, and is now at Omonia in Greece.

Kelechi, we know all about!

The new Manchester City academy was questioned by the media, but boy how well has it paid off for both Manchester City and football in general, well done to everybody involved at City for pushing the academy and now we are bearing the fruits

From the only 3 academy players that was in the team last season, only Foden was the one tha really contributed(the most) towards us winning the treble and this year we already "got rid" of some of the most promising ones.

Would that be the media which decries everything related to City ?

Even if the cunts were actually bright enough to realise the merits of the academy, you just know that they would never give us any credit for the foresight shown by the club.

The media are paid shills for the redshirt clubs and their moronic hoardes, not innovators and successful trophy winning clubs supported by oil money !

There are only so many academy players that can be added to the first team squad if they are going to get meaningful minutes. Next season we will probably have Cole, Lewis, McAtee and Bobb which is probably too many.
None of the lads from 2015 made any serious impact for City or peer level clubs so progress has been made. The only players that have left that might reach City's first team squad standard (in my opinion) are Lavia and Trafford and both of them really need regular football to push on.

The idea of the academy is to develop young players not just for the club but for the whole football world and it brings in money on transfers, Manchester City first team levels are so high that only a few will break into the first-team squad the rest are helped get a new club or sold

Sancho was one the best young player in the academy and wanted game time but Pep knows best and he was sold, that is how it works and City made a good profit on the move
