Actfortheact - Save the human rights act now

Another excellent point, particularly the reference to Gove! It does feel very much the baby being thrown out with the bathwater, which will have such a negative impact on so many vulnerable members of society. That's why our campaign is so important http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/actfortheact

A worthwhile cause indeed my friend.

I just find it astonishing that on here there is more interest in an American execution than there is towards there own personal human rights.

I must admit, that had crossed my mind. This is all about raising awareness, and I think over the next few weeks this will become big news, and appear on the public agenda. I'm hoping discussion on forum's like this will help. The problem with things like this is that you only realise their importance once you have benefited from their very existence. Unfortunately we are very much in that camp.

So the Human Rights Act in its current form is perfect and should not be altered in any way.

If you demand perfection in this world you are bound to be disappointed.

It should not be altered, no.

What alterations would you propose?

How about the right to deport terrorists or foreign nationals that have committed terrible crimes.

In what section of the HRA does it say you can't deport convicted terrorists?

Without them claiming a right to a family life.

I think you're confusing the HRA with the ECHR, mate.
