In what section of the HRA does it say you can't deport convicted terrorists?
Without them claiming a right to a family life.
I think you're confusing the HRA with the ECHR, mate.

The 1998 act, which came fully into force in 2000, includes the right to life, the right to privacy and family life and the right to freedom of religion.

As it should. Everyone has those rights.

But GDM is right. The HRA does not preclude what you imagine to be true

No. The HRA enshrines those (qualified) ECHR rights within British institutions, as it does all rights contained within the Convention.

If you were to preclude those rights from the HRA they would still have effect within the ECHR, to which we are a signatory.

This is a classic example of someone confusing this straightforward piece of legislation with our subsisting obligations under a treaty we have been party to for around sixty years.

The only way to fully ensure that the (highly qualified) right to family life is excluded from our obligations is to secede from the ECHR in its entirety, joining other such forward thinking European states as Belorussia and...err..........

So the Human Rights Act in its current form is perfect and should not be altered in any way.
If you demand perfection in this world you are bound to be disappointed.

It should not be altered, no.

What alterations would you propose?

How about the right to deport terrorists or foreign nationals that have committed terrible crimes.

Absolutely this, and failing that at least let "The Increment" sort the bastards out!!
