When I was 15 I perfectly capable of consent. Obviously for legal purposes you need to draw the line somewhere but at least there's a bit of grey area. No real grey area with rape.

Absolutely not and please see my previous post.I`m talking about how he will be hounded out of the game (if found guilty) by not only the press but every club in the land and quite rightly so.
I`m no legal expert but as others have posted,if this has happened because she has been in a nightclub,posing as an 18 year old,then that changes everything,which should then put the nightclub in a very embarrassing situation,as I`m certain they would have had to have asked for some ID.
But hey,no-one really knows yet what the circumstances are.

It was absolutely not consensual. People under the Age of Consent are not able to give consent, no matter what they say. That's sort of the point.

I assume he means that he didn't force himself on her.

Obviously it's wrong but as someone previously said it wouldn't be a shock to find out it transpired in a nightclub with a loaded Johno and a tall tale or two.

I'm reckoning the nightclub scenario is most likely.

All he can do is go by her word in that case, on basis she has no I.D. I've seen this happen before, a lad from my old school. Pulled a stunner, she said 18, she was 15. He got a year for it.

Innocent till proven guilty lets remember but I can see this becoming bigger than this case. The above scenario is a problem too frequent. No person should enter a club without being frisked and checked I.D.
