Adam Johnson guilty - 6 year sentence

I'm not talking about legal ambiguity, I'm talking about moral ambiguity.
Thats why we have a legal position, some peoples moral compass can't be trusted and obviously Johnson is one of those that can't and shouldn't be trusted.

Exactly and even if she is the most mature 15 year old ever, he KNEW she was 15. Talked to her over a period of time and still went ahead knowing the law in the UK.

Talk of anything else or other countries is pointless. He was in the uk. Knew the score and is bang to rights. He's a fucking idiot and has ruined his life. He's symptomatic of the modern footballer that thinks they can get away with anything.
Yep.

Yes it is! You've jumped from what is illegal to what is morally wrong when they often don't work side by side. What is moral isn't concerned with what the law states, that's my point. You've proven that he wasn't acting within the law, I accept that. Whether he was immoral for acting in such a way is a different story.

And regarding whether I agree with that, I'd be hard-pressed to give you an answer. Would we say that it is okay for a man to be punished for drinking a beer in Saudi knowing the law? Johnson knew the law and didn't follow it and he is culpable for that, whether it would be justifiable to punish someone for committing a crime that isn't a crime in various parts of the world is difficult to answer on my part.
Drinking in Saudi and Adam Johnson grooming children are really not related.
Not at all

Understand my point for what it is. I know there's a marked difference but it's the idea of being punished for defying the law to commit a morally controversial act knowing it is illegal.

Nope. Not even buy a long shot. itsrising might be on a wind up. I'll try one more time before I start name calling...

It is totally justifiable to punish a man who knowingly groomed an under aged girl for sex if that is the law of the country where it happened. Forget the other parts of the world that have different laws and morals as they don't apply here. At all.

This countries laws and morals apply. He knew the legal age. He went ahead.
