Not sure Sunderland have a cause of action against Johnson, given the doctrine of nemo tenetur prodere seipsum. He's entitled not to incriminate himself.

Supposing a City player who of overseas origin in his mid to late 20s turned out to have a 15yr old bird whom he was shagging royally whilst residing in Germany for example, where he would not be breaking the law......would everyone be demanding he be sacked or sold and demanding public castration?
The fact he played for City and that I personally think anyone who would go near a 15yr old when they are 10 years older really need to have a word with themselves but am not sure I would have the right to condemn that player?
I think it would be ok to condemn it though, because I still think lots of people in Germany would condemn it too. It's not illegal there (unless the teenager makes a complaint), but the law hasn't been decided that way because they think it's culturally acceptable for guys in their late 20s to sleep with 15 year olds, its more because they dont want to criminalise 14 and 15 year olds who are inevitably going to start exploring their sexuality (usually with people of the same age).

That is why we have laws to draw a line in the sand that a particular society can work to. Laws are rigid within their own definition until they are changed. He is expressing an opinion, I dont see where he suggests he thinks its ok, nor do I see any evidence that he wishes to move to somewhere in order to follow in Johnsons foot steps as you imply, the fact you hold a different opinion than him is fair enough and your right to do so, but to respond to his point in the way you have?

I asked him for his opinion on whether it was ok for a 28 year old to groom a 15 year old, he has repeatedly refused to answer, instead he just asked more questions of others, his reply was he was refusing to answer because he could see I was getting more 'purple' with each post. So he admitted to not answering as he thought it was winding me up.
This is not my argument and I am not seeking to express a moral judgement either way. But just to point out, your comment above is incorrect. In Gemany a 65 year old can have sex with a 14 year old girl and it is perfectly legal. It only becomes illegal if the girl makes a complaint, AND the man is proved to have exploited a lack of judgement on their part due to their immaturity.
If there is no complaint or no exploitation is proven, there is no offence.
