Adam Johnson is our 3rd best player.

I think it's wrong to write him off because of the Mancini 'system'. We can't just have one single system or we'll be figured out by Christmas. We don't have to cover every eventuality from Barcelona to Stoke, but there's also little point having 2 identical sets of 11 players just for the WW attacking fullback formation. I think he'll stay, and I hope he puts as much drive into his club football as he seems intent on doing for his national game.

Agree that we need to keep him and I think mancini does realise he gives us a different dimansion. All teams need a plan B/C or even D at various stages in the season and it's up to AJ to make a mark when his time comes.
 
On the Weiss thread I said that AdamJ doesn't deliver much more if anything than those things which Weiss does. Both can beat a man, and SOMETIMES they can put in a cross, bypassing the first man.

But this might develop into 'What have the pair of them ever done for MCFC' along side the Monty Python Romans sketch.

Mancini wants footballers who are multidimensional. Adam Johnson at the moment doesn't come into that, and what he can do often doesn't come off. I can see why Mancini and some fans get frustrated with him.

Him and Silva are the only players we have that can cross, he's the best we have at beating his man, the only one who has the bottle to try anything special, and the skill to pull it off, and he is 5 times the player Milner has been so far.

I agree he is young and has a lot to learn, but he's already one of the best wide men in the prem and should start every match for us. He should be one of the first names on the teamsheet along with Silva, Tévez, de Jong and Hart.

Just a few weeks ago everyone on this forum was singing his praises and getting hyped up about him.

So tell me, why has everyone gone from loving him to casting him aside?

Naah, just not having that one. Good impact player for last 20 mins, but I'm not convinced about him as a starter.
 
Oh dear...

The way he makes no impact at all on a match for 98% of the time he is on the pitch. What a player.
 
He's a winger. It's clear to see Mancini will not be playing with wingers.
He's wasteful.
He makes wrong decisions.
He doesn't help out defensively very well.
He's not played well against any good team.
He's not fast.
He's not strong.

I have nothing against AJohnson at all, I actually like him. But when you're looking at the top places in the league you can't play someone who has the above faults. He will be a good impact player for us as he has the tricks to cause trouble late in a game when the opposition starts to get tired and a goal is needed. I'll be happy to sing his song as he's warming up ready to change the game for us. And I hope he enjoys his time with us!


As for the OP saying he's our third best player: Tevez, de Jong, Kompany, Silva, Kolorov, Kolo, Barry, Balotelli do play for us you know!
