Probably just means a guy we are actively scouting. We of course scout a lot of guys. What does long term transfer target actually mean?
He’s the new de Rossi or Isco?

Unless I need to go to SpecSavers, not one City lad there.
Begin with the first name on the list…Unless I need to go to SpecSavers, not one City lad there.
He has less than 20 PL games. There could be another few Whartons on the market next year. Archie Gray is one of themApparently, we are not bidding this summer. We might miss out on him.
That's impressive from Perrone.
Don’t think Couto stands a chance. McAtee did himself no favors with the loan to Sheffield United. Think he’s behind both Foden and Bobb (and Kev of course if he stays) for that attacking mid role. Sadly think McAtee will leave permanently. Perrone needs another loan I think, preferably a mid table PL side. Very promising player but not ready to play for City just yet. His aim should be to replace Kovacic next summer or the summer after that. That's impressive from Perrone.
Our young players out on loan seem to get lost in all the transfer talk.
I'd like to think that Perrone, McAtee, Couto, C. Doyle etc will all get a chance to prove themselves first, before we go spending on someone elses up and coming younsters.
They will all want to play, but we can't offer that to all, bar the very best.Don’t think Couto stands a chance. McAtee did himself no favors with the loan to Sheffield United. With Gomez leaving and Rico now considered a midfielder we’re left with only 6 defenders for 4 spots. We could definitely use another CB, and Callum has done very well for 2 seasons in the championship. I suspect he’d maybe like to play more regularly though
Nothing confirmed, but I would assume he leaves, barely played all seasonThey will all want to play, but we can't offer that to all, bar the very best.
I just hope they all get a chance in pre-season that's all.
Is Gomez leaving? i must've missed that.
Think it was a better move for the young lad to go to someone at Palace's level. We should have signed him when he was at Blackburn. I think he would really suit our side and has the potential to be a top player.
I agree. That wasn’t really the point I was making though. I’m saying why can’t we spot this talent beforehand? It seemed pretty obvious he had something about him. Why not buy him and then loan him out?Think it was a better move for the young lad to go to someone at Palace's level.
He has played regularly in the Premier League, with a new manager who has clearly put his faith in him.
If City had signed him, how many games this season would he have started ?
Kovacic has been excellent for City and is very, very experienced.
Would Pep have played him in front of Kovacic ?
thats what the CFG is for, Perrone being the example in his role/position identified clearlyI agree. That wasn’t really the point I was making though. I’m saying why can’t we spot this talent beforehand? It seemed pretty obvious he had something about him. Why not buy him and then loan him out?
I know it’s not always that easy to do, but we could save ourselves so much money. We’ve done it with players like Alvarez.
We can't necessarily afford to take that risk. We need guys where the distribution of outcomes is smaller so we can continue to complete for trophies year and year out. More times than not we will let a guy go to a midtable side and then use our substantial club revenues to buy him from a club like Palace. This is essentially what life looks like when you are at the top of the football food chain. Certainly, we will try to get some balance by developing lower cost talent out of the academy, and taking a few young players out of South America.I agree. Think Wharton was too old and had too many Championship games under his belt to move to any of the CFG teams, except perhaps now with Girona getting into Europe ?thats what the CFG is for, Perrone being the example in his role/position identified clearly
I was going to say, Dinho wasn’t exactly tall.2 inches taller than Fernandinho.
Will anyone? He will never ever be on david silvas level
