Here's a rumour I heard today:

My mate's brother is best mates with (our GK coach) Kevin Hitchcock's son.

He's been going mad all morning saying KH has told his son that Gareth Barry is in Dubai with Hughes as of last night and that Carlos Tevez is also on its way to being wrapped up. KH supposedly told my mate's brother to have a bet on them both signing for City this week.

The part about Barry being in Dubai seemed far-fetched until I read confirmation that Barry actually was in the UAE in the past week in yesterday's Daily Mail:

Maybe Hughes is thinking.........

Mad Zab competes with De Jong for the DM slot (and is another backup for the RB slot)
Barry has LCM sewn up but Johnno needs to prove he can play better than him when fit
Richards is no longer automatic 1st team starter if we sign Johnson from Portsmouth, he needs to up his game to get that 1st team slot

Seems bloody sensible to me, no-one should be an automatic 1st team starter just because there isn't competition for that position. If we sign 1 or 2 top AMs (Kaka ???) even Robinho might end up having to work his balls off to prove he should have that 1st team place.

I've got no sympathy for any player whinging about another one coming in.

Correct and when we sign Petrov replacement then Robbie will have to be on his toes as Barry will be playing centre mid.
4-4-2 next season imo when we get the players in.

its quite obvious wats gna happen with tevez,he sed in the paper a few weeks ago tht until football season was over he didnt want to hear netin bout transfers from kia,united have prob offered the sum but the muney was never the object for tevez,its bout his game time,he wants football 90% of the time n united defo rnt givin it to him so i think hel leave if he sticks to wat he has sed in the press,ITS ABOUT GAME TIME NOT THE FEE OR WAGES!!!
