Add me to the list! Barry&Tevez rumours. More added 03/06!

As much as I am mini-gutted about Elano leaving, I think Barry's arrival has ended the first team chances of Dunne and Elano, as it pushes Ireland forward, and Kompany back into defence. Unless he thinks Dunne is better than Onuoha of course, he may do, I don't.
Elano is off to Inter according to KH and Sturridge I assume to Chelsea. Garrido is going back to Spain and in my excitement I forgot to ask where Richards was off too. My mate said that KH had told him to get a bet on Glen Johnson arriving.

Anyway, mixed feelings on this news, but let's see?

Spot on about Glen Johnson!!

can see the sense in Elano going, would be good as a squad player but lesser intensity and slower pace of Italian football probably suit him better, Sturridge, well its been obvious for months he is gone, Garrido, you can see the sense in selling him, even though that currently leaves us with only 1 specialist left back (of course Barry can play there as cover so maybe that is MH thinking) but like others, not so sure we should be getting rid of Richards, despite having had a poor season by his standards, he is young enough to bounce back and prove his worth, and if we are selling him I would hazard a guess its to a rival in the Premier League. Glen Johnson is currently better at RB than Richards, maybe send Richards out on loan fora season to get his form back would be the answer...to a club like Wolves,Brum,Sunderland,Stoke....where the pressure and expectations arn't quite so high, to enable him to get back to his form of old.

Hehe, isn't that something like insider fraud mate? Couldn't that get him into trouble? :)

given the statements about the importance of youth players I'd be surprised to see Micah leave and i'll be a little gutted to see him leave. I guess the price to pay for a new team is old favourites leaving

The potential that we could allow Richards to leave is very concerning for me. Yes he had a poor season but he has huge potential and will develop into a top class defender. We dont have the size of squad to allow him to go currently. If we did sign Glen Johnson we would have Zab as cover, VK drops to CB and unless we sign another CB there is only VK, Dunne, Onuoha for 2 spots... surely Richards is worth keeping as cover, taking some pressure off him to help hi work through his loss of form.

This is unless there is something else we are not publicly aware of (and I dont mean transfers)........ anyone shed any light on this ?

I can't see him letting Richards go tbh. We don't need the money and we can afford to give him time to develop. Very, very disappointed if he goes

Manchester City are closing in on a £32m deal for Carlos Tevez, beating their neighbours Manchester United to the signing.

The 25 year old's representative Kia Joorabchian held talks with Old Trafford Chief Executive Daivd Gill earlier today, but we understand a deal was not struck to extend the Argentina International's initial 2 year deal, leaving Tevez to join City.

City chiefs have already held discussions with Joorabchian and agreed a price, upwards of £30m.

Tevez has agreed personal terms, which are around £30,000 a week more than on offer at United.

A deal is set to be completed in the next 72 hours.

Seems friday it is then

Yes we can afford to keep him, but there have been several stories and incidents that paint a poor picture as to Micas attitude.

I think this would be why he could leave if true, and if it was then no one could disagree with that decision.

I'd just like to say that the player I was speaking to couldn't have being referring to Barry. Simply because he is a midfielder himself, so if he knew about this, he would have mentioned it in the first person instead of "another player was unhappy".

I still think Benjani was the one who was unhappy, but haven't any new information to add to that. I'll speak again tonight and ask him about Barry.

Update for anyone who cares. I rang the player, and he said that the guy who was moaning about possibly being replaced was Richards and not Benjani as I thought. I also asked him about Barry, but he said he hasn't heard anything about him apart from him signing on SSN. So, no prior knowledge there then. He was pissed off anyway, so I probably can't go back and do this for a bit.

Sorry mate, what was he pissed off about, signing Barry?

Richards was pissed off because he heard they were signing a player in his position. The other player was pissed at the signing of Barry as it limits his first team opportunities further than they already are.
