Adebayor for me was very poor

I have not played football seriously for nerly 10 years and I'm nearly 45, but I could have easily marked Adebayor last night.

A top striker would have pulled Dawson around the pitch, trying to make space for others.......not our lazy lump though.......just stood around and was not arsed.........perfect example when Barry pulled the ball back into the 6 yard box, the lazy git never made an attempt to get on the end of it.

neither did tevez...is he lazy as well

johnson was no where in the vacinity...is he lazy

where was bellamy

You are just jumping on the bandwagon.....watch the whole game...he was constantly running the channels (especially the left), jumping for long hopeful punts from our midfield and defence....

Ade is a striker who needs service, he is never going to be a tevez or a bellamy who runs themselves in to the ground...but neither was thierry henry, matt letissier, van nistleroy, to name but a few....

Now I can understand why some human beings can be selective in their criticisms. Some players can do no wrong and if they do then a convenient scapegoat has to be found

First Ireland was to be blamed, now SWP and always Ade because he is 'lazy'.

The difference tonight was Peter Crouch, he did everything Ade didn't do for us, held the ball up from long balls in the air, brought his team mates into the game, especially Defoe with his hold up play and took his chance brilliantly.

Ade for us missed every long ball, was constantly outmuscled by Dawson or King when he tried to hold up the ball and never looked like scoring.

One of his worst performances at home in a City shirt IMO, hope he can improve at Upton Park.

Agreed. Swap Crouch and Ade round tonight and I think we'd have nicked it

Totally disagree... we would have had the same problem! We didn't get the final ball right. Too many crosses were cleared by the 'first' defender.. how many crosses did we get into the box? Crouch would have been just as frustrated as Ade last night if the roles were reversed.

Why can't we be man enough that when our favourite player or players goof to admit it rather than scapegoating the likes of Ireland or SWP or Ade or even Micah (thank God he wasn't playing) or Robinho.

Some of you lack integrity and truthfullness.

Into feet he's an outstanding striker however we seem reluctant at times to play it into feet and instead try to play him in the channels and play it into him in the air. There was a chance in the first half when Bellamy had the ball and it was set up perfectly for him to roll the ball into Adebayor's feet on the edge of the box but he tried to pass it by the side of Dawson for Ade to get onto and it was wasted, it's little things like that that can make a difference despite not being that obvious when you actually watch the match

You have to play to players strengths and sadly with Adebayor we don't have the midfield players who are intelligent enough to play to his strenghts at the minute but with players who know how to use the ball and pick a pass better in the final 3rd i'm sure he'll be even better next season

This forum is full off idiots.

Adebayor is a top quality striker.

The problem is, we have two central midfielders who offer nothing going forwards and we have two wingers who can only come inside. These two wingers can be well marshalled by the opposing full backs, and the midfielders never break into the opposing penalty area.

We have two full backs who offer nothing going forwards, so this basically leaves us with 4 attacking players, two who are well looked after, and two (Tevez and Ade) who have to drop deep time and time again just to get anything started. When this fails, we launch a long ball to him.

The main problem lies with the fact that we have no variety whatsoever, because the players in the full back positions and both central midfield positions, are very limited technically and/or athletically.

Adebayor is one of the best strikers in the league and his goal record in the PL certainly backs that up. The fact that him and Tevez have scored so many goals between them suggest that it's the rest of the pitch that's the worry.

This thread suggests that around 80% of the posters on here are complete doylems.

Another player is Bridge who to me is one-legged and lack a repertoire of kicks to parlay it into creative passes. Hence he resorts to 'hoofing the ball' or crosses that are picked off easily. Bridge shortcoming is probably his lack of 'top-flight football' matches during his journeyman's years learning the craft
Bellamy, on the other hand, has the ability but for one reason or not does not make the 'right decision'.
