Adebayor (merged)

He is clearly a gifted player but has had one good season in the PL (where have we heard that before)

The thing that worries me is that he appears to have a shocking attitude and has been accused of not trying whilst playing for Arsenal.

I am more than a little concerned over his potential signing, he doesn't strike me as a Hughes type signing at all. If he does come I hope Hughes lays down the law early and Ade keeps his sulky attitude under control.

On the plus side he has massive potential and could do fantastic things for us.

shit i need to keep pinching myself............... do you think i'm in a coma and i'm just dreaming ???? o well if so wot a foo*ing dream :)

They have a shitload of players we could drag into a cash + player deal, Kompany, Elano, Robinho, Richards, Ireland etc etc.

Just LOL!

My fave....

''we should get atleast 25m and swine flu boy but in all honestly knowing how we sell players itl be 8m and a pack of nobbys nuts'' LOL

They need a defender and Striker 5m + Be Haim, Evans and a pack of nobby's nuts

Sounds about right to me ;-)

Ok i know goal.com is not good but...

City Deal Agreed
Press reports in Britain suggest that Arsenal have agreed to sell Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City for a fee of around £20 million. The two clubs trashed out the deal over the weekend and the Togo hitman is expected to begin contract negotiations...

Sky Sports News reports that the Arsenal hitman is set to begin contract negotiations with the Eastlands side.

I think most people are underestimating how advanced these talks are, I reckon it might be a rushed job like Gareth Barry.
Just think about it, SSN "sources" have been consistently late this entire transfer window when it comes to Man City transfers... I reckon there's been advanced negotiations with both Arsehole and Ade this weekend and things might move very quickly! Perhaps even in time for him to join us on the plane to SA...
If we're signing an African striker, they'll want him on tour with them in Africa. Simple as that. If this is going to happen, it will be pushed through very quickly. (IMO of course)

We need 6 top strikers and we will have

Tevez, Adebayor, RSC, Bellamy, Bojinov, Robinho
I suspect one of Bellamy and Boj (plus all of the other ones) will move on. Six top strikers is a ridiculous amount to have. No other team has even close to that amount. It would be impossible to keep them all happy.

it's 6 chasing 3 positions however add Sweep to that and it is 7 chasing 3 shirts.

def 1 or 2 departures.

I tend to agree

Arsenal will not sell Adebayor just for £20m. Who the fuck could they replace with just £20m in today's market?

Thing is, the way we'll play Robbie and Tevez won't really be out and out strikers - more like the wide men in a front three with Adebayor/RSC in the middle. With three strikers playing at any given time, three back-ups makes good sense - I can see Boj getting fed up with this though, as he will want more time on the pitch than he'll be likely to get this season
