defo dont need any more strikers.. what is more concerning is the defence. Citeh has enough strikers now... buying anymore is stupid. They will end up moaning about not getting enough games and worrt about their chances of not getting picked for the World Cup next year!

I say focus more on defense now as the attacking options are pretty much sorted now.
Focus on bringing in Lescott, JT and maybe another defender. Would defo want to see Marek Jankulovski in the team though. What an exciting left sided defender, good with free kicks and bring out the ball and supporting on the attack.

Last season we were crying out for a quality target man... now we have RSC but Hughes is looking for quality in depth. We don't have anyone else at the club ( in 1st team ) that can carry out the role.. Soooo we need Adebeyor... no question ..

Most of our strikers are 2nd Strikers who can play off a big man except Caicedo who should become a Superstar if he can work out how to win the ball in the air !!..

Ade .. come on downnnnnnnnnn...

11 starts in two years suggests we can't rely on him.

We have 6 attacking forwards who I mentioned in my post, I personly think that's enough, as we weren't exactly short of goals last year were we?

At times, at others we could have plaed for 5 days and still wouldn't have come close.

Again I'm not saying no to Ade coming just that we're not really in dire need and could probably afford to wait till January if need be and see how we're doing.

But why wait? Were getting on with other targets aswell.

Let's also not forget if another striker does come more than likely 2 of those 6 I mentioned will probably be sold/loaned.

Doesn't matter, as Adebayor is better than any strikers we currently have.

Well Forlan is not tall and couldnt do it in this league in his prime - let alone now he is over 30. So we DEFINATELY dont need him.

I do take on board what you are saying on RSC and Bellamy. We all know they will miss half the season through injury at the end of the day....

I'd say his prime was during the period where he was European Golden Boot winner twice.

Scored more than Eto'o and Villa last season. Completely two footed player aswell, scored almost identical number of goals with either foot.

Just because he didn't do it at scum it doesn't mean he'd be a complete failure again. It's a different set of circumstances and he'd be playing for a team who play a different style of Football with the added factors of him being supremely confident and having a point to prove.
People forget that he was around 23/24 when he moved to scum and he moved from an entirely different continent. It's difficult to adapt for some people when they have little experience of different surroundings, especially when you have a lot of expectation on your shoulders but you can't quite find your form. It doesn't make you shit and Forlan has clearly gone on to prove that.

I'm not saying we should be any means sign him, but if we ended up with him i wouldn't be to unhappy.

That's way a lot of a our fans think, we'll never get any youngsters come through and be world class players, way to quick to dismiss young talent or so it seems.

How many fans have already discounted Jo? I personly can't see a way back for him at City, although I actully think that'll he'll turn out a good striker.

Of course we need an ade type player to add to the attack you could argue RSC fits the bill but like its been said before 2 for every position, we have noone to head the ball in the box we are woefull at scoring from crosses and corners. If ade came or any other st i think caicedo would be gone, maybe boj, ebans, and benjani be it on loan or transfers as they just arn't needed, these extra strikers you are all moaning about are 5-6 goal a season players not goal scorers in anyones book

Huntellar is only a year older and has a much better scoring record. His record is unbelivable at every club he has played.

The dutch league is garbage. Alfonso Alves scored 45 in 39 games there. Enough said I think!

And yes he still has a decent record at Madrid aswell but very few games so far.

I fully endorse getting rid of Big Phil...... even if only on loan.

He's like Micah, but plays upfront.

He can't shoot accurately from more than 8 yards out, he doesnt have any tricks, he's fairly physical yes, he's fairly young, yes, but if you asked me would I pick him infront of Adebayor, RSC, Tevez, Robinho, SWP, Bellamy, Bojinov, Petrov, I'd say no.

I'd say we would be much better letting one of the young lads like Mak or Chimely have a crack if it came down to it.

He's at an age where he will need first team football to advance, but I wouldnt even pick him in my first 8 attacking players. For the good of the player & us.

Tevez & Bellamy on the right
RSC & Ade in the middle
Robby on the left

I'd keep Bojinov OR Caicedo but not both. I think Big Phil has already said West Ham want him. I'd only want them to be loaned at this stage.

Evans is going to Sheffield United isn't he?

And I just wish someone would take Benji off us! I'll love him for THAT GOAL (off his shoulder) but he needs to move on.

So really we only have 4 main strikers if we sign Ade with Robinho free or on the left. And then Boj as back-up would be my choice. I don't think that will suit Boj though. He needs to play a lot of games next season after all his injuries so I think he will be loaned out.
