Adebayor on strike.

As long as he stay's on strike refuse to pay him. As he is not avaialble for training, how can we pay him. By not turning up for training surely he is in breach of his contract. If he dosesn't return to training say after a month, the club should ask for a doctor's note asking why he has not turned up for training, and if the club are not happy with the reason then the club should sack him.

After all if we didn't turn up for work for over a month without a very good reason i.e. we were ill, we would surely get the sack. So why should a footballer be any different.

It’s an insult for City to tell me by email I can only train with the reserves

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR has agreed to return to Manchester City training on Monday - even though he remains devastated by the club's treatment.

Adebayor is furious at the way he was omitted from City's current tour of America.

Manu also felt insulted at the way he received an email on holiday telling him he could only train with the reserves from now on and that he will never be part of the first-team squad.

The striker, who refuses to attend training this week, believes the way he has been treated is effectively constructive dismissal.

Adebayor, 27, last night insisted: "I don't know what I have done wrong.

"I get an email, out of the blue, on my holidays telling me I wasn't going on the tour and they told me I am not going to train with the first team.

"It's an insult to me to tell me I am now only fit to train with the reserves.

"I will return to training but I feel I've been let down and disrespected."

tbh it must be a kick in the teeth, one week training at madrid with ronaldo, kaka etc then the next week training with our reserve team
When you put it that way it become even more fun :) HAHA

I know where I'd rather be and it ain't getting up at 6 in the morning to go and work In AE. Get over yourself Ade, one minute you're getting shot at and are so glad to be alive that every day will be a gift,. Next you're sucking like an arse

Am I the only one who finds the way he's being treated disgusting? If that was me I'd do something similar. It's just a massive slap in the face, and if my boss treated me like that I'd probably punch him. If something like this was said over an email I don't know what I'd do.

I understand that he's turned possible transfers down but still, pretty rude way to treat an employee that joined the club expecting to be at the very least a 1st team player for the duration of his stay.

About as classy as a 15 year old 15 stone trollop with her skirt hitched up around her waist pissing in an alley way whilst eating donor and chips....

There's a good reason for his treatment and it's to do with Financial Fair Play. If we can show he's not part of our plans and we're looking to sell him then we can disregard the amount we charge for amortisation in the accounts, which is £5m a year.

If you or I as employees put in as little effort for our firms as he did for us then we'd lose our jobs. If he genuinely wants to play then he'll take a drop in his wages to go somewhere else. You should be able to put 6 month notice clauses into players' contracts.

You're not the only one mate, however, there's a lynch-mob type mentality on here when it comes to Adebayor. It's usually just mindless rants that don't even have to make any fucking sense or be true in some cases.

Nah. I'm pretty sure that it's not that he's turned down transfers. One or two other players who we expect to be on the move have gone on tour, at least one of them has turned down a move. They are the guys who haven't been taking potshots at the club and management, the guys who know how to behave professionally at all times, who know that serving your own interests doesn't always mean setting yourself publicly against your employer, even if the relationship is coming to an end. Normal fucking people, in other words.

I don't get the 'I'd do the same' bit. I doubt you would. I'm willing to bet you wouldn't go around criticising your employer in public, even if you had a problem. Most people handle their business face to face. It's between you and your boss. That's how I'd expect people to treat me. If I was busying myself finding the largest number of 'outsiders' all my problems, finding the biggest forum possible to have a go at someone I was under contract too, then I think I'd know, that would probably the end of trust and civility, and I'd expect the cold shoulder when I walked back into the office.
