I'm no expert, but why would he need a new work-permit when he's been working in England since January 2006?
Strange...

If someone starts a new job they need to reapply for a work permit incase they no longer qualify for it. with adebayor it should be a formality he needs to have played in plus 75% of international games for Toga and Toga's averagage Fifa ranking for the past 2 years needs to be 70 or better.

You can always get round it as long as you can prove it. I worked at Pro Active who are a football agency in wilmslow and they had this problem when Hughes funnily enough was buying Ryan Nelson from DC United he had played enough games but New Zealands average was something 70.8 over 2 years so the had to apply.

No offense mate but I seriously nearly nodded off then reading that, no seriously, i better get an early night!

Oh no we've upset the 'arry mob. Oh dear :)

Hmm, another press conference tommorow I wonder..might get of my arse and take a walk up the ground.

Was gonna go up for Tevez but was happy enough just to go around to my ManUre mates and ask him for a lift just to take the piss.

One thing I think we'll find out whether or not there's any chance of getting JT soon. if he goes with the rest of the team on they're tour I think it's more than likely dead although maybe not with the final nail in the coffin.

Just what I was thinking mate...

Part of me thinks it's a smokescreen, the only player we're currently linked with that would need a work permit is Eto'o.

I hope that's the case, although I'm probably clutching at straws!

Either way.... happy days!!!!!

Let it go mate. Eto'o has been pictured on holiday in America by the daily mail today. He is not coming. Adebayor is and has to apply for a work permit. Benjani had to when he signed here. Its a formality now.

Yeah I suppose, but the prospect of Eto'o playing in sky blue is one I can't erase from my imagination...

Adebayor isn't a bad second prize though!

What a day to be a blue...

It's great to see us signing Tevez and Ade looking likely. Hopefully we can watch them play in SA very soon.

we wanted to sign a famous african player for expanding in african Market. As we couldn't get Eto'o(an african) , now we are signing Adebayor(another african) . Does anyone else still think these are hughes plans???

It makes you laugh. One divot says something and all the rest of the cockney tossers all agree yet his whole arguement is dead wrong! 'Arry was critisized for verbally and publicly tapping up players by saying he'd like to sign them. Hughes is talking about two players we've made official advances for! Legal, official bids have been placed for these players so he's entitled to say I'm interested in them. Why wouldn't he be interested if he's trying to sign them?

i know what you mean bass, it is sickening. people say the day football died was when sky started broadcasting the premier league, but i know the date, 1st september 2008, the day the arabs took over citeh, because they offer silly money to players when there are children in africa scrounging for every scrap of food while players are getting paid over 100,000 p/w to warm a bloody bench

what.a.bellend.

Has he actually read what he has written. Im sure all of spurs bench players forgo their wages when they are benched. Bentley must be skint after spending 6 months in the reserves.

Right. I was surprised nobody over there pointed that out to him.

just a quick point regarding what i have just read from the bacon dodgers in tottenham.
they allude to the fact that terry and lescott were in dubai when hughes was there and we have been tapping these players up.
now i aint in the know but i do have a couple of mates who play football professionally, and i have talked about the tapping up issue with them.
they seemed to think that pretty much every transfer that goes through 'tapping up' happens.
the first contact is invariably club to agent so they can gage whether the player is interested. if they are, then the club will make an official approach.
for example do you think that city would have opened negotiations with arsenal without getting the go ahead from adebayor/adebayors agent ? definately not
its part and parcel of the game and the way transfers happen
