Lennon tore us to shreds at COMS last season (he tears us to shreds every match for that matter). And let's be honest, he's much better than Adam Johnson.

Rubbish man, AJ can be a bit lazy but is a gifted player with a much better football brain than Lennon who id lump in with Walcott when you think of fast wingers who just don't know what to do with the ball in the final 3rd. Lennon doesn't do the tearing apart enough though. Infact its very few and far between now.

AJ is much better for us than Lennon imo, if AJ pulls his fucking thumb out then in a few months nobody would dare mention the two names in the same sentence.

I think this is a case of the 'grass being greener on the other side' folks. He's no better than SWP on current form and doesn't have a consistent enough final ball. Also I wouldn't like the thought of giving Adebayor to Spuds.

Johnson more intelligent than Lennon? Hmmm.... I doubt it. If your talking the orthodox definition of 'intelligence' it's almost always a mistake to conclude a footballer's intelligence based on a players performance. I'd prefer to simply use the term 'football sharpness.' Just because there's more dynamics to Johnson's game doesn't make him more intelligent, that's due to countless factors. In terms of their common traits (E.G. one on ones) Lennon is noticeably sharper. He adapts to the player's traits whereas Johnson is far more monotonous.


Despite this, Johnson makes a far better wrong sided winger than Lennon. Lennon is far from the best choice for a wrong sided winger. Someone said that he's a mid-table out and out winger. That is a total load of bull. He's great. Even better than Gareth Bale in more aspects than you'd think.

I said it due to the fact when i have watched spurs he has always had as my dad puts it "a quiet game" aka shit.
I may be unlucky to have only seen him play shit but i don't remember anyone saying he was ever motm even spurs supporters reckon he has regressed a bit if you check their forums (im refering to last season here).

I think AJ is 10x better in the final 3rd also.

I'm not even anti Lennon i just don't think he is an improvement on what we already have tbh.

Fair enough mate :). That, I agree with. Getting lennon to fit in our system wouldn't obviate the problem. I think there are far more pertinent and cheaper solutions abroad that would be way better!!

To recap.... Willian, Alejandro Gomez and Mauro Zarate are a few of a few that I feel would be ideal. Kinda like AJ's without all the baggage I feel. However, Balotelli can play in that inside forward role and you're just not going to get a practical target better than him. So we're probably looking for an AJ replacement (IMO). Any ideas (please don't say Cerci)?


EDIT: The only amazing player we've been linked with is probably HULK!!! Not too bad eh (although unrealistic)?

Right footers mate! Can you think of left footers mate?!? Also, (IMO) i don't think they'd be better than Balo as usually, the better inside forward is also in their element as a 'flashy' striker (ronaldo, hulk, Balo etc...).

I'd take him just to get ade off the books , wages should be low so why not have him as a super sub to come on an just run at tiered defender
I've seen city defense contain some of the best wingers but for the last three years I've watched him rip the city defense to shreds that alone should be proof of his talent should link well with dzeko as he did with crouch so for me I'll be glad to have him .

That's the thing though. He's an excellent out and out winger but mancini doesn't play that way (unfortunately). I guess we're looking for a left footed guy who's a 'better' adam Johnson. I find this very puzzling because to justify this sort notion, you'd have to get a VERY good player. Hulk is the only one I know of who would completely relish the opportunity but he's by no means a bench starter. That'd mean the end of Tevez surely.
