Adebayor to Spurs

i hope to god its a permanent deal. i will be fucked off its its a loan deal with us paying a % of his wages. i'd rather send him to newcastle if that was the deal

Agreed, I'd rather we didn't loan him if nothing else we don't want them realising he only actually bothers trying about 6 games a season and them then not invoking the right to buy!!!

With the depreciation Ade, with his wages, will cost us about £15m per year for the next 2 years of his contract, i'd not grumble if we let him go on a free (thus "adding" £12.5m to the accounts - the rest of the asset depreciation from £25m/4 years - and saving an extra £16m in wages) to somewhere like Newcastle/Villa/Sunderland (who are probably the only PL clubs that spring to mind who we wouldn't mind selling to and who could afford to pay him a decent enough wage - especially if on a free).

If we are mad enough to loan to spurs we need to build in a "recall" factor and if he decides he does fancy trying for a whole season and is setting the world alight and pushing them into the top 4 at our expense we recall him.

No doubt triffic player.....etc!

Harry Redknapp has confirmed Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Manchester City regarding a deal for Emmanuel Adebayor.

The former Arsenal striker is surplus to requirements at City after spending the second half of last season on loan at Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old had previously been keen on a return to the Santiago Bernabeu, but could now be offered the chance to join his old club's arch rivals.

Spurs boss Redknapp revealed last month that he would be interested in signing the Togo forward, but stressed it would only be a loan deal.
Live on Sky Sports

Negotiations with City have reportedly been ongoing for some time, with Adebayor's reported £170,000 a week wage packet proving to be the only real stumbling block.

Redknapp said: "The chairman is talking to Man City about the player but where they (the negotiations) are at, I genuinely don't know."

Adebayor scored twice against Tottenham for Real in the Champions League quarter-final first leg clash between the two teams at the Bernabeu last season.

During that match Spurs fans chanted abusive songs at the former Arsenal marksman, but the player himself said this summer the songs would not put him off signing for Redknapp's team.

Redknapp has room in his squad for another striker after Republic of Ireland international Robbie Keane joined Los Angeles Galaxy earlier this week.

I really hope we dont loan out a player to a rival and then pay towards the privelige..
That is just wrong in so many ways.
would any other team challenging for the 4 CL places do the same ??
NO.

Ok lads, I'm a Spurs fan... As you can see from my username, I come in peace! Don't want no pointless internet argument in which some northerner pledges to "break my neck" and so fourth.

Basically, I think you're all a bit deluded. After one game to be so confident of finishing above everyone, and you only beat poxy Swansea, who seemed to pose less attacking threat than a teaspoon.

Anyhow, I think you lot lending us Adebayor would be great, thanks! He should propel us above Arseanal and the Bindippers, who have done a "Man City" so to speak on average crap like Downing and Charlie Adam instead of David Silva!

Adebayor should help us finish near you, as you really won't be as high as you like to think. I can see ManUre pissing it this season, mainly cos Chelsea are literally older than their manager, and you lot will need more time to gel. Also I think Mancini is a richmans Ranieri. I find him rather clueless and think he needs upgrading upon if you are to win the league ever. And you should be looking at winning the league considering you've spent the equivalent of USA's national debt on transfers.

Lets see if you can refrain from just uttering insults. Doubt it.

the only correct point you made was your last one - fuck off you smug spurs prick, you fucking wank shagfucker, I fucking hate spurs and I fucking hate you, you gormless misinformed prick

This deal does not work on any level. Could you imagine him firing them into the top 4 !! and paying him for the honour ???? Loan him out abroad by all means but not to a league rival.

i also come in peace.

you ask us to refrain from using insults yet you call our manager "clueless", the same manager who booked our place in the group stages of the CL(thanks crouchy, always been a blue that lad)and won the f.a. cup, he did all that without a bung of any sort, i would'nt call that clueless.
how arrogant of a mid table club to brand swansea as "poxy", another insult.
i know you are hurting, i know you are jealous, i know you have arry but that is no reason to visit the forum of the champions elect and start mouthing off, please stick around if you wish, better still should you ever visit the UK catch a game if you can, you might then know what the fuck you are talking about.

i lied about sticking around by the way.

As I've said before in this thread, the only way this deal makes any sense whatsoever is if we are taking a player from Spuds and using Ade as leverage.

Lennon or Bale would solve our pace issues.
