when we have a defence and a midfield twatting long balls up the field what do you expect, we need to get the ball down and play some football, simple!!!

This.

All Lescott did vs Burnley was hoof it up in the general direction of Ade and SWP. How do we expect to break teams down if we play to their strengths?

Adebayor is used to playing FOOTBALL hence his problems at City of late. Perhaps once we start playing the game he'll start scoring again.

Easy to blame Ade though eh?

Every other fucker has had it tonight, be unfair to leave out Ade!

Don't think Shay's had a tongue-lashing so . . . . . . what the billy buggery happened with that last goal, every goalie we've ever had from Bert, to Harry, to Steve, to Joe to even Andy bloody D, would have caught the ball one-handed and done a double flik-flak before delivering it along the ground to Joleoninho to race the full length of the pitch to score the solo goal of the millennium and just, but only just, put the game out of the Clarets' reach! D'ya think I'm being a bit too harsh?

having seen ade destroy teams when hes on his game, and tracking back competing for the ball.
His own words were "in epl you first win the battle then you win the game"
since the arsenal game he hasnt won anything, dont blame others.
if hughes is good to his word and replacing under performing players(richards) then its adebayors turn.
we all know what a great player he is but he has to put the same effort in against burnley as his does against arsenal.

needs to be played as a lone striker, Tevez just gets in his way.

get back to 4-2-3-1 and we will see the best again of Ade.

This. Will Hughes change back though? Seems like Tevez has signed a contract saying he must play every game. It's clearly not working.

when you have a team that just want to lump it in the air no wonder. Fuck me why can we not pass on the floor.

This. With the players we have it's criminal the amount of hopeful long balls we punt upfield.

Does Lescott know he's not an Everton player now?

Agreed, even last season we played with the ball on the deck more than we have this season. At the start of the season with the formation we were playing then I thought we were trying to emulate Barca and Arsenal style of play, quick, sharp passing. We couldn't be further away from that at the moment. Adebayor is a class act, he's not a Ricardo Fuller hold up player, he's at his best with the ball at his feet in and around the area. The service the lad has had the last few games has been appaling. We need to revert back to 4-3-3 and get Ireland on the ball in the final third where his cutting through balls will be appreciated.
