Re: Adebayor

If this was somewhere like Portugal the ultras would be round at his house "politely" (with baseball bats) requesting he accept a pay cut and leave the club. It worked for someone, trying to think if it was Sporting or Porto, a high earner simply refused to move and was on his bike after a nudge from some of the more hardcore fans. :)

It works the other way too, as with the hooded goons outside Shrek's house last season! But Blues have more class than that.

Adebayor is a talented player but has huge motivation problems. Last season for spurs, there were moments he was utter rubbish. By some sleight of god, they coincided with them refusing to give him a contract. Then when they showed positive signs that they might sign him next year, he was again immense. A player who plays for contracts is always a dangerous proposition. Not to mention the disturbing factor in dressing room atmosphere. Get rid of him asap

I think that i am right in saying that Adebayor was the forward caught most offside AND the player who gave possession away on most occasions last year (i.e. out of the entire PL).

He ain't that talented. He is a cnut. But he is right to stick to his guns as we offered a wage that makes it prohibitive to shift him on.

That said, he'll be 31 when his contract ends and if he - like Bridge & RSC - chooses to do a Winston Bogarde then it's up to him.... he's never won anything in his career (nada, nichts, rien, nowt) apart from one Copa Del Rey, and if he wants to look at his bank balance and have 150k pw for the next 2 years instead of taking the gamble of something in his trophy cabinet and 100k a week, then more fool him.

QPR are about to bid for Adebayor.

Interesting if you're serious. He does like Hughes, don't know if he'd take a 'step down' like that though.

QPR seem to have ambition like we did when we signed Adebayor. Fernandez also has plenty of cash only thing letting them down is there signing reject players who are coming to last paydays. Oh and that Hughes is a shit manager.

Can they pay £100k per week , no

Have you been living under a rock for the last two year's... QPR are minted.. they can stump up Ade's wage if they thought it worthwhile.

Thay are stumping up £80k a week for Barton.

Joey Barton will be on close to that. SWP will also be on a mint (wouldn't of left us otherwise)

Re: Adebayor

Seems a shame to me the amount of stick which Adebayor is taking. I can't find anywhere he's slagged the club or supporters off. He did alright for us, and a damn sight better than most who had come before him. If the gaffer doesn't fancy him that's his prerogative and has proven to be the right decision since we won the league. The money/contract stuff is between Ade and the powers that be who gave him the contract in the first place. They can fight it out however they want. Not many people walk away from millions of pounds and if he chooses not to then so be it.
