I don't buy the accusations that he was lazy. I think he is a very good player, never understood the levels of criticism he got from many City fans for his performances and I don't think he was given a particularly fair crack at things at City. Having said all that we will never know exactly what went on behind the scenes that made him and Mancini fall out and I'm very happy to see him go in the sense that he is on big wages and clearly wouldn't play for us again anyway.

Disinterested and showed a distinct lack of heart, amazing ego unable to be part pf a rotating squad system....always offside....did you watch the games he played in? He had plenty of chances but proved to be mentally weak and not the type of player we need :)

Yes I did see the matches he played for us and I usually found the criticism of his performances to be extremely harsh. I often think exactly the same thing about Dzeko. There are a few similarities between the way their City careers have gone imo. Both have good goal scoring records in a City shirt but both have suffered from being in and out of the team for various reasons which has led to patchy form. I think both would have benefitted from a proper good run in the team but I totally understand that with the players we have and our style of play that isn't really possible. Both will leave and both will be very good players for their new clubs imo.

Don't really know what to think with ffp now. Obviously Chelsea and PSG don't seem to be bothered in the slightest by it.

I believe we will try to comply as much as possible to get onside with the elite of European football however at the first sign that FFP is not working or cannot work, we will throw the shackles off and do what we feel we need to do.

It's noticeable that since PSG have signed Levezzi and now look like signing Ibrahimovic and Silva, Platini has gone extremely quiet.

That will be because his son works for them!

Thanks for great memory! That day sprinting down the pitch to the Arsenal fans. Not enough hard work for us though. If he could replicate that day week in week out, he would be frightening, but we all know he wont.

Platini really is a disgraceful individual. I don't know if it will be better or worse for us when he leaves UEFA and becomes head of FIFA.

Great news -him and Kolo, that's £270k a week right there.

Get Tevez and Dzeko off and we are suddenly £600k a week better off before we bring anyone in and £50m in the transfer kitty.

£31 million a year to pay 4 players. It is indeed a perverse world!

Good post, I'm also glad he's gone/going, but have no issue with him personally, he did well for us at a time when we needed something better, a time when world class players weren't going to come, and when we had to pay stupid money just to attract players.

Some of our fans are like spoilt kids, and forget that when we were taken over, we were nothing as a club, no real profile, just lots of money, and had won nothing in decades. To get where we are now, where we can sign world class players, we had to make progress with players below the very top level, and to get them, we basically had to bribe them to come. Ade was just that.
