Agenda against City? Ref Stats 2012/13

PLease make a summering of it. Its just to much data to process at once.

Summary:

Essentially we give away the most fouls in the league, we are the least fouled team in the league however our opponents get cautioned for the least number of fouls on average. United don't seem to get too much advantage until you see that their opponents get sent off the second most frequently in the league, they also haven't had a player off nor conceded a penalty. Add to that that virtually every referee gives more freekicks against us than for us and there's often a substantial difference between the percentages of freekicks given/conceded comparing us to United.

Also slightly worrying is that Marriner has a trait of giving us very little and he gives Wigan more than he gives against them. Also shows how incredibly well we've done considering that we get far less decisions in our favour/far more against us than other top teams. Also interesting to note that Liverpool are quite hard done by it seems by the refs whereas under Dalglish they would getting the favours from the refs all the time. Apart from that it's just there for you to peruse(hopefully for a journo to nab).

Thank you very much for taking time and sum it up for me.

So basically, how ever you look United are favoured. what i find weird is, we always have the majority of the possession, so either we are playing 200 per cent to win the ball back or we fouls ourselves?

Thank you for posting that, good work and very interesting that the stats back up what most people already thought from their own observation. My view is that it's partly a reflection of Baconface's intimidation of referees.

That is some great stats work, very impressed. I think the thing missing from it is a comparison of referees against all other top five clubs. Every referee had a higher freekicks given to conceded ratio for the rags than for us. If that holds true for Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs, you've removed any noise in your data relating to the rags being the best attacking side and either we are victims of bias or something in our style of play is causing us to be given fewer free-kicks that we ought to be getting.

Thanks for the post but it's pretty clear already the league is bent to assist Sky's club United only a complete numpty would think there is no agenda.

To be honest agenda makes it sound part credible actually it's illegal match fixing and the reason I'm starting to fall out of love with football.

How can I support something when I do not believe in what I'm watching?

Fouls committed look about right. We're a pretty cynical side when it comes to fouling.
