Agent Fees - City 2nd in the PL - 1/2/20 - 1/2/21 - £30,174,615

This seriously needs fixing. That's money gone from the game, never to be seen again. They provide no service other than to maximise their earnings through manipulating transfers and upsetting players to move contracts around. Scum Bags.
That’s a gross over-simplification. Without agents, players would be expected to negotiate with clubs on their own, and would undoubtedly be exploited and had over in the process.

They are a necessary evil, I’m afraid. They don't exist in a vacuum.

All payments by clubs to agents should be outlawed. If a player wants to pay an agent to negotiate on their behalf that is fine. But no reason for City to pay agents under any circumstances.

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland could cost the club who buy him an extra 40m euros (£34m), because his agent Mino Raiola and father Alf-Inge want 20m euros (£17m) each in commission as part of the deal. (RAC1, via Marca)

Agents need regulating , there should be a maximum percentage of any deal , the sums of money leaving the game are absolutely ridiculous , imagine if the Premier league / F.A. could put half of the money the slug agents received into grass roots football
My grandson might be able to play on an all weather pitch instead of the mudheap he has to endure and that is if he is lucky that the game hasnt been postponed for a "waterlogged pitch" nearly every weekend.
Greaseball agents first consideration is their own slice of the pie , the player and club are secondary to any of their motives , the clubs will never take a stand against agents because of their desperation to sign certain players, Riola "allegedly" netted £30m from the Pogshite deal , how the f*ck can that be tolerated ?

The money leaves the game if it is paid to players also, this kind of promotes the virtues of FFP.

Yes okay but they should be paid by their client, the player. Not clubs.

At least players get paid do something for the game.
Agents are leeches with 0 care or interest in football other than using it to make a fortune out of it.

I've never understood why clubs have managed to get into a situation where they're paying for someone who's negotiating against them. And how it all of their money-grabbing exploits, the big clubs have never got together and said fuck you.
You are spot on. It is totally illogical for Clubs to pay players’ agents.

Agents should be paid by the players who retain them.

Fair play Corky , but most players earn their money and we see the result of that money on the pitch entertaining us , agents do some negotiating in their Armani suits and gold plated i-phones and rake in millions, for doing next to f*ck all in comparison. Admittedly not all agents are in Riola's league and there could be some decents ones , but leeches like Riola need reigning in.
