I came home from that game an emotional reck and as I drove onto my street my wife had hung one of my City flags out of the window and it set me off again.

I remember 2 bits from the match that stood out. I had put up with an elderlyish "supporter" behind me for a good 4 years. Boy did she moan. We could be 5-0 up and she'd complain it should have been 6. Early in the game she shouted out her first pearl of wisdom..."Get YaYa off and bring De Jong on". FFS. We needed to win the game here not hold out for a draw.There was stunned silence around me. At 2-1 down going into injury time, she unleashed another demotivating nugget. At which point I turned round and told her to shut the 'hell' up. Stunned, she replied how she'd supported the team for 30 blah blah years. I hit back "and I've supported them for 24, so either shut the 'hell' up or get behind the team...you're not helping". Not much of a contribution to what happened soon after, but I take credit for silencing one dissenting voice. She skulked away soon after full time and moved seats for the following season !!
