You might want to declare your allegiance.

Perception/vision is not infallible. Sometimes we can be looking right at something and not notice it or immediately forget what we saw (I remember a TV documentary a few years ago that showed how unreliable eye witness testimonies are, because of this).

In normal, everyday scenarios this is the case. Now thrown in a frantic, high-pressured environment like, say, refereeing a PL match. Yes, it appears to us that Marriner was looking right at it and therefore should have 'seen' it; but he didn't, and it's totally understandable why.

Yes, Aguero was reacting to being fouled by Reid. Yes, Fellaini and Costa are consistent offenders. But Aguero can't control those things, he can only control what he does. He reacted, it was stupid and it was no-one else's fault but his own. He got away with a 'stamp' on David Luiz a few years ago so I guess his luck has run out. We will all just have to suck it up and focus on beating Utd with the other 15 or so excellent players that we have..

Was that the documentary in the Manchester pub where a bloke argues with his missus and becomes involved with some builders?

It was incredible how the accounts were different with some claiming to have seen a weapon even though the whole event was stage managed.

For me its all about what 'seeing an incident' covers. It would be very difficult in game time to detemine if a player has taken a look to see where a player is, if he has pushed his arm out to fend of a player or thrown an elbow (dangerous play).

It might be, yes. From what I can recall, it started with a staged murder in a pub and then followed the whole process of gathering and testing the eye-witness testimonies of the participants. In one part they were shown photo-fits of suspects from which they had to identify the murderer, and it turned out that the pictures were made up from parts of their own faces! In another one, they witnessed a staged robbery of a security van and had special cameras mounted on their heads that tracked their eye movements. A lot of the participants claimed not to have seen certain things, despite the camera tracking showing that their eyes were often looking right at these things - proof that we can stare right at something but fail to 'see' it or remember it.

EDIT: Seems we'r thinking of the same thing - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00s6qdj

Adebayor was on fire when Twattenberg got him banned, then went to shit.

I hope this ban does the opposite and we start spanking teams by 4or 5 with Sergio getting most of them.

Anthony Taylor? Lee Mason or Tugger Dean? Bet they'll give it Crapps and he'll do his best to redress the 1-6! I'm still surprised that we got three points from that game and didn't come away with an official draw!

don't you know the result of the derby in 2 weeks ???? everybody else does ITS NOT GOOD FOR PEP AND CITY skysports have been running the score AND THE HIGHLIGHTS for about 2 months in the beckham advert AND RUSHFORD IN FOR 5
