Aguero injured

As much as I love Sergio he is slightly holding us back from buying a clinical forward. Same with Fern but we have to be respectful to our legends.

This approach unfortunately means keeping them both for 1-2 years longer than necessary.

Or maybe with them staying it gives the club a change to build the squad again and put the cherries on top when ready. Build from the back etc

He didn't make his point very well, but as much as I remember Mancini fondly, and i love the guy, I think we've all see there were problems with him and the squad in hindsight. How many players and staff have come out since and said many weren't happy with him at the time.

We played good football and it was a great couple of years but it wasn't sustainable.
The board at the time didn't really back Mancini in the Transfer market after 2012 and we ended up with some average players like Rodwell.

That helps, but footballs different, or sport is. When we chose the player to replace Aguero no matter how we plan the player we choose could be a great success but could be a surprising flop. When we choose a manager to replace Pep same applies. We'll all have different views on who should come next the club will have there's but nobody can say with certainty if it will be better or worse than what we've had the last 4 years.
Obviously there is no guarantee of any player coming in being successful.

But I am not sure what that has to do with not settling for what we have, the results across the Premiership have been crazy and we are not yet in one month, that title looks like it's wide open, one more good signing could be the difference.

For an injury that wasnt deemed too bad, to surgery that went well, to he might be back for late stage CL games to not ready for the start of the season to literally hearing nothing about the man is a bit of a worry.

It's baffling. He has never had a fast recovery record from injury but given the prognosis for this one it's odd.

We need a proper striker as Leicester and Leeds have proved Sterling and Mahrez don't really do the business, although both did score in those games. We should have got someone in on loan or a free short term who will be happy with limited time once Aguero and Jesus are fit. I hope for next season we have a top Aguero replacement lined up.

I think this is very much the beginning of the end. There were times last season he was struggling/limping/holding various parts of his body and grimacing on a very regular basis when involved in a challenge. He isn't naturally fit anyway, and training has never been his first love......so at his current age,and with a catalogue of niggles behind him,i'm fearing we won't be seeing a great deal more of him.

Come on now that is just ridiculous. How can we blame players for our lack of transfer activity because they have set a bar that is difficult to fill or because they won't apparently just do the right thing and go? (which seems to be what people are asking for) We offered them renewals, don't forget that.

Deja vu this thread once again. Claims that he’s finished will be proven wrong as they have been the multiple other times it’s been said on here.
The injuries are always a concern, his age makes it even more so, but, once he’s back on the pitch and doing what he does best the voices will die down and he’ll be lauded as the best in the business once again.
He needs replacing soon, no arguments there, and ideally we’d have brought somebody in this season to challenge. I’ve no doubts whatsoever though that his story isn’t over and he’s plenty of glorious moments left in him.
