Aguero v Bournemouth steward - allegation withdrawn

Was their any need to treat the fan who ran on the pitch in that manner. Totally expected though. Exuberant celebration which we would probably all have done. A lot of credit to Aguero and the City fans at that end. I hope Bournemouth review their stewarding. One of the criteria for stewarding should surely be to have respect for the fans at the game.

I'm not sure the way they handled that would not constitute assault. It was certainly excessive force, the sort of which should be reserved for a much more serious crime than encroachment. In fact, are the stewards even allowed to manhandle people?

Paul Jennings of The Sun on Talksport just 5 minutes ago. Just stated that allegation of assulat against Aguero was withdrawn when, in Jenning's words "pictures would appear to show otherwise". Not pulled up on it, just laughed off. Bloody disgrace and utter shits.

The fan should not have been on the pitch but I doubt he did anything to be treated with such force. Probably enough that everyone just reflects on the matter and move on.

I wouldn't worry about it. I bet a lot of match-going fans from all clubs will have watched that and thought fair play to Aguero. He comes out of this with a lot of credit

What fucks me off about this is the copper who is filming it all like the fan who celebrated a last minute goal in a football game is some kind of terrorist.

Probably making a documentary to add to the 50 others we have to watch yearly on the BBC about emergency services. Yes I get they do a good job but do I want to watch it every week...NO.

Or more realistically they are just living up to their reputation.

That situation was badly handled by the police and Stewards. Had that been Millwall that would have turned into a nasty incident.

Just throwing this in the mix but after the pitch invasion last week at the Blackburn vs Burnley game perhaps the police and stewards had new instructions to follow.

Heard that. It is their back page headline isn't it?
Pictures don't lie, but the Sun do.

Agree mate he should not have been but it's also feasible that he got ever the wall to avoid being injured by the force of the crowd during the wild celebration. For the lad involved he might not be able to move on. He may get a large fine and a banning order. The stewards meanwhile carry on until they seriously injure someone with their employee's policies.

Actually it reinforces the stereotype of security personnel largely being comprised of disgruntled idiots just itching to crack some skulls
