Air fryer/Slow Cooker vs Oven

Slowly getting invested here - thanks cleavers.
These are pretty cheap really, and for a home user far better than an expensive bit of kit.

I was bought one, probably wouldn't have bought one myself, but the deep pot from the Ninja saved buying a large container for the water bath (not expensive but space taking when not in use).

Slow cooker and i use the halogen oven. Can fit so much more in a halogen, the air fryers maybe cheaper to run but they fit way less food from what i've seen.

That's kinda the point though. I can't tell you how many times I've had to heat up the whole oven to do half a tray of oven chips.

Although I'm going to upgrade to the 'Instant Pot', I don't have any problem cooking in my Tower Air Fryer doing chips (sweet potato), for example.

It's a question of gaging cooking times and temp control via experimentation. Then you can add other elements based upon the experiments. I did used to go off cooking instructions on packages, but found they were incorrect.

You still need to turn certain foods for even cooking.

What caused this was our air fryer. We left it plugged in and when the electric came back on it surged through it. We even had it plugged into a special outlet for protection- it failed

anyway what i wanted to tell you was the fire inspector said this was the 6th air fryer fires he’s had to do, they (firefighters) are trying to get air fryer companies looked into because of all the fires. So please unplug your air fryers when not in use

Similar to a few fridges and dryers a few years back, they will no doubt be a recall at some point!

I find it bizarre that unplugging small appliances is not obvious to some people!!

Forever tells ng my wife to stop leaving her laptop plugged in all night.

As a side note, not derailing the thread, having laptops and mobiles and things of similar nature, plugged in all the time depletes the life of the battery involved as the full charge has nowhere to discharge to.

It's why products only last 12 - 18 months and people replace them citing the product being 'shit'. My 2.5 year old phone still gives me a 2 day life as I let it discharge fully, every so often.
