Air fryer/Slow Cooker vs Oven

I have both a Ninja Air fryer and a slow cooker. Both good additions to the kitchen. Cooking meat and chips in the fryer is ideal, quick and tasty and using the slow cooker for a curry or a sweat & sour is also ideal. Don’t matter if you live alone or not. Make a batch and freeze what you don’t eat. Hate using the oven so avoid if possible. Trial and error on the fryer, some of the food was not great at the start until you get used to it.

I cooked sausages then soda in the air fryer and made a tasty breakfast the other day. You need to use oil in my opinion. I put some in a bowl and brush it onto the food. Especyfor chips you need to shake them every 6/10min and put bit oil on. Bit of a hassle but worth it. 5 potatoes pealed and cut will take about 20-25 min. 20 min on 190 and the last 5 on 200.

Sweat and sour?
Nice

Yea. Get 2 jars of uncle bens. Add some pineapple or pepper. Fry chicken for 5 min or so and throw it into the slow cooker. Cooking it first drys out the chicken so you can break it up after about 3/4 hrs cooking on high heat. It will reduce to a thick sauce.

The mid range came out good but the smaller ones seem ok, depends on your needs and budget, the big arse fuckers are pretty big and not cheap but seems cheaper to run than an oven it seems
Any preference of maker ? My daughter is just buying her first house and I’m thinking of getting her one.

Get a Ninja Foodie.
I have the 11 function jobbie.
This one
It’s the dogs bollocks.
Can't agree more with this. We got the smart lid one a month ago. Expensive but we've not had the oven on that time. Does everything, steam, air fry pressure cook. It's a big bugger but well worth it

Hullo all.
Thinking about energy prices I've turned my freezer off as I don't think it warrants being on at the moment.
I also have an oven that I consider being an enormous energy sucker (I live alone). Imagine that being on 200 degrees just to cook one thing (whole roast chicken aside).

Looking into Air Dryers vs slow cooker (and there are hybrids but apparently the air frying capabilities aren't great).
Air fryers are super quick and have their limitations whereas slow cookers would be on for quite a bit longer (although I could batch cook and place the rest in the fridge then heat up).

Or just stick to using my hob and oven (those air fryers aren;'t particularly cheap).
Not sure how longer I'll be in this flat (and I've never really cooked in this kitchen given it's not much bigger than a bloody wardrobe.....)

Any thoughts on these?
Knock your freezer back on.

pressure-cookers and air fryers are the way forward for cooking

got myself one of the tefal 2 in 1 actifry air fryers and I must say you have to do bacon and sausage and you will never fry again
How much cleaning do they need?
I suspect they'd be a bit large for my kitchen.

anyone got one of these?

Fair enough, I would watch Bangers & Cash for 24 hours a day if i was allowed, but its a good job everyone is different.
My missus enjoys watching it more than me i think, going to have a trip there sometime, probably come back with stuff we didn't know we needed
