I think if journalists go to airports where people are just finding out that their flights are being delayed by days it’s hardly a surprise that they’re going to get a negative reaction. It’s not really an indication that people can’t cope, it’s simply a human reaction when people are understandably pissed off.

Is the wedding on Thursday or at the weekend? Went to a wedding there in 2019 and got the train from Zurich to Naples via Milan, Bologna and Florence - and then a cab. Might be too late as a contingency for the wedding depending how desperate you are to get there. Trains are decent in Italy.
 
Got a flight to Edinburgh on Sunday from London.

Is it worth buying a coach ticket for contingency? £50 return.

The wedding is Thursday. To make matters worse we got here tonight but our luggage didn’t !! Bought some new clothes and just spilt beer over them. Squelchy shoes. Bugger. Try again in the morning…
 
We need a back up plan.
