Can't see this post going down too well.

On the other side of the coin, you are going to get people accused of being a member of a supporters club just for tickets which they generally aren't applicable for. Supporters clubs are more than just tickets (raising funds for charity, travel organisation, suggestions to improve the club through meetings). I'm not a member of one as I'm not in a position to contribute to all areas of a supporters club, and wouldn't abuse one for just getting tickets.

I'm not accusing you of this mate, but just warning you that some will whether you're arsed or not :-)

Whether it goes down well or not, who cares

I go with my younger brother and father- all of which are blues as everyone on here
I play football regularly on saturdays so have to give my season ticket in 110 away a bit etc so its also difficult to get to as many away games due to this and my points would not build up as quickly to watch city and get tickets
No matter what you say we all do these things to go to watch the club we support and love, anyone who denies it is just..well, in denial

I go to every supporters club meeting, and on various occasions have given tickets away for NOTHING if i have a game in order to suit another member
Me and My father especially contribute as much as ANYONE to the club so whatever is said about me on here its impact is little

Not that I have to justify myself to anyone on here anyway, I appreciate some people would not like the fact I have a ticket to such a game - but im 18 and lucky enough play football at high enough level in which I cannot get to games sometimes- my points total isnt too bad atall

Your branch Secretary might care.

Branches can have their ticket allocations cut or stopped if the club find out they are giving away tickets to branch members with insufficient loyalty points.

Oh! And City do monitor BM and these kind of threads.

This is so true. I emailed the club about ticket rumuors and i received a call back last Friday. They were aware of this thread

Out of interest what did they say about these rumours?

I haven't read the whole thread, but after 58 pages can it be summarised that people with less than 8000 points are moaning that they haven't got a ticket because people with more than 8000 points and in the UCL cup scheme have bought up all the tickets made available?

Basically, everybody in the away end at the Amsterdam Arena on the night will be proper blues, be it people who got their tickets through their OSC, people who booked on the Thomas Cook trip who have over 8000 points, people who called at the ticket office/rang up/booked online who all had over 8000 points and in the UCL scheme and people with mates with over 8000 points and in the UCL scheme but aren't going to the game and got them to get them a ticket.

I know it sounds harsh, but it's just stamping your feet like a 5 year old who hasn't got want he wanted. The system in place isn't perfect but is pretty good (for example, does anybody really want to go down the shite ballot system that lot have?) and when demand far outweighs supply you're always going to be left with unhappy people.

Only highlighted this Danny because of 1 line which I have heard alot of people mention. the Thomas Cook trip who have over 8000 points, people who called at the ticket office/rang up/booked online who all had over 8000 points and in the UCL scheme At think it is fairly evident now that people have got tickets through Thomas Cook who are a lot less than 8,000 points.
The club would not allow TC to charter flights and then not supply them with tickets to fill the planes.
Most people have been talking about getting there on the cheap spending a few nights, going with Spike and other means of transport. Clearly TC without the guarnteed tickets would have struggled to fill the planes.

I understand it as there are places on the Thomas Cook trip, including match ticket, still available as long as you meet the 8000+ points criteria.

(..could be wrong though, which is nothing new.)

OK time to put all rumuors to bed. I was initially not going to mention it as it was an email to Danny Wilson then a call from a very nice sounding female (You know who you are :)) at the club in response
I asked the following:
1. How many of the allocation went coorperate / OSC
a. 10% Coorperate / 10% OSC - Doing the maths that is 520 out of the allocation however this is not saying both sectors took up the full allocation. Full figures will not be disclosed
2. How many tickets were issued during the computer glitch
a. 9 tickets in total, these were recalled and no one was sacked. It was due to transferring from one system or another or words to that effect
3. TC ?
a. TC run with the clubs allocation. Yes you do not have to be a Rocket Scientist to realise TC will not fly without a full plane so a v v v small number may be on it with less than the points. It may sound harsh. Some went cheaper option going by them selves or some went with the dearer option trying to get a ticket then flight payment / ticket. Harsh but that is the gamble
4. Selling out at 8k
a. High demand end of. Cheap getting there etc...Yes i was initially thinking the worse. it sold at 8k points. This was after feedback from other away games that ticket sales started of too high too late. Looking at the real picture if tickets started of at 12k, then 11k poits etc then sold out at 8k the post would be no where near what we are no. I am just as guilty

PS - The club were well aware of this thread so thanks to the staff for being honest / prompt in there response

A mate of mine git a ticket via a supported club over the weekend. He was told last week he may not get a ticket as the OSC hadn't got the number of tickets they'd applied for, but at the meeting was told the OSC had in the end got the full allocation of tickets they'd applied for as the ones that was sold by mistake had been returned. He's on 4000pts!!!

I know a guy who has a box at City in the Colin Bell Stand and he can get as many tickets for away matches (including Europe) as he wants

fair enough I suppose for him paying £50k+ a season?

Would be interesting to see if your mate got loyalty points for purchasing that ticket ...... i doubt it , but i bet another member of the supporters club who is not going but has the correct points got the additional loyalty points ......... the supporters clubs claim that they can only get tickets if the members have the correct points ......... its just indirect point whoring.

Would of love to have gone to this game but only 5000 loyalty points i had no chance, my mates have asked me to go over December 7th, between two of us the flights are £244.96 so its £122.48 each. Anyone got a cheaper way?

Good luck over there blues, bring the points home

Don't see much wrong with that.

A couple of my mates upgraded to corporate a couple of years ago and you stop receiving loyalty points but can have a ticket for any away game. They paid over £1,500 a season so it is fair enough in my opinion.

As for the guy paying £50k I'd expect them to be free!
