No, it's lazy racism, unthinking because that's how he sees the world. For a joke to be funny, for people to laugh, an audience has to be in on it, to see the world as the joker sees it, but they don't, so it's not funny, hence his reply....

That said, I agree with your earlier point that it would be interesting to see Sugar’s reaction if someone tweeted a pic that was lazily stereotyping Jewish people.

The village idiot with no connections might struggle, but making money, assuming you're not born in to it or marry it, is more to do with acquired skills, happenstance, application and mostly (though not always) hard work.

Again I think your're giving this clown too much credit.. to understand humour and nuance or whatever. It appears an innocent enough, shit joke to me. You wouldn't make it, I wouldn't make it, but it doesn't mean Sugar is racist for making it.
