Alan Turing

Oh how fucking kind of the establishment.

He needs nothing of you sniveling hand wringing cunts.
People wonder why i want the whole fucking lot ripping apart, parliament, royalty, banking.

The idea another person somehow can judge another in such circumstances makes me rage.

Get back to fiddling expenses you fucking shit stains.

The Government should be asking The Turing family for a pardon.

Whether the Government pardon is justified or not, the fact that he has been pardoned will hopefully lead to more widespread recognition of his genius. Thus, for me, the pardon is a positive.

As for him committing suicide, are we really so naive to take that story for granted? Let's not forget that at the time the Government were concerned he would be seduced by Russian secret agents. Apparently, gay pepple are more likely to be seduced. It reminds me of that Brass Eye sketch about the Navy, where an admiral claimed gays attract sharks and are not so good at swimming.

Fact. Sharks do swim better.

Ta, for the link.

Being a cynic. I smell Government cover up. It was alleged that he was under surveillance and the Government was concerned he would share secrets with Russia.

-- Tue Dec 24, 2013 9:12 pm --

Haha

Whilst it is 'pleasing' that at least an acknowledgement of sorts has been made, it still remains that the man was vilified for his sexuality and ended his life prematurely.

It's all too late really.

Some interesting details about the case, such as that it was Turing's barrister that proposed the chemical castration. 75,000 similar offenses. Also how meaningless a pardon is in legal terms (it does not remove the conviction). And a proposed better approach which on the face of it seems to make sense
