Alcohol, hints, tips, advice etc.

4 months off the beer and don't miss it a single bit, I even attended parties in recent months and just had soft drinks.

Absolutely loving my weekends off work spending quality time with the kids feeling fresh.

To be honest it's because of the kids that I don't drink anymore, When you drink on a Friday or Saturday night the next day is a complete disaster and you just get lazy not wanting to do anything. Theast four months I've been to the cinema most weeks, Out in playgrounds and play centres, Playing board games and computer games together at home ect

I would never go back now.

I wish that I had taken the pledge earlier in my life.
So much family time missed.
Glad you have changed your habits and good luck.

It is a mindset. You are saying, "I want to get pissed more."

If you are at the crossroads, you should be saying, "I don't want to get pissed more."

Break the habit; for that is what it has been for you. I gets easier the longer you continue to break the habit. It ain't easy. But it is doable if you want to do it.

Go to aways. I have. Yes, it feels really odd not being pissed when all around you are, but you sure have more control of yourself and don't end up asleep on some train going fuck-knows where and you remember the match too!

You've done amazingly well so far, especially in the face of some pretty big challenges so early on.
Willpower has got you this far but what extra support can you get in place now?
Are you listening to podcasts or following sober influencers at all? Is it worth sorting out a GP appointment? Or getting in touch with any of the charities or support groups who specialise in helping anyone looking to cut back / stop drinking. I'm in a couple through Facebook (which is pretty useful for this kind of stuff) and could recommend some if you'd like?
