Alcohol, hints, tips, advice etc.

Never had a problem with alcohol but I have got to the stage I prefer coffee in a coffee shop to pubs now.
Had one pint at the match on Wednesday and one pint in the bar upstairs at Piccadilly Station aftermath yesterday.
The decline of Boddington in pubs has not helped.lol.
Last time I had a right good drink was at my daughters wedding on March.
Had loads but not drunk and no hangover.
Probably Shalke away the last time the worse for wear with the demon drink

Wise words, it’s great to have the weekend off and something to look forward to
I really struggle at weekends. It's when the loneliness hits me and the over thinking kicks in. And a drink would help to numb some of that. Temporarily at least.
I need to get outside for a walk.

With the money you are saving from not drinking would you be able to work less hours or get a job that suits you better with less pay?

I know it’s a difficult balance but spending far too much time at work in a job that’s unfulfilling is counter productive on your actual work and social life.

Working weekends and shifts suits some people but I found the proverbial Mon - Fri work with a nice weekend to look forward to is far better for the soul. I even did this in my last 10 years whilst self employed, did the odd bit of weekend work as the Customer is King but generally nada after around Friday 5pm.has just 0
If it's an incentive for anyone the £35 I would have spent last night has just paid for my flight to the Algarve sat in 25 ° sun having a coke ,then off to Madrid and 2 nights in Ibiza ,flights all in £109 how many spent more than that last night and feel rough today ??

Stick on a podcast, even better if it’s a vid one too. Try to keep occupied, keep that brain busy.

200 days for me but summer is always a struggle with BBQ and sunshine being a big tempter for a jug of Old Rosie over ice.

Can I ask that anyone who knows a pub that sell Guinness 0 in Northern Quarter list it on here please
If you want my opinion drinking 0% alcohol will only inhibit you in the long term.

When I first stopped I was drinking becks blue, it wasn't until I stopped that and really stopped drinking, changing the habit of drinking while watching football and when out for meals etc that I felt that I had beaten it.
Think it is 12 years now.

Just checked my sobriety tracker for the first time in ages. Nearly £30k saved in 5 years on drink and coke not to mention I'm fitter and healthier than ever. 37 and I feel 21, even though I was a fat coke head with severe alcohol issues at 21!

Best decision I ever made for myself. It works if you put the effort in and is a gift that is always giving.

Hopefully i can retire in just under five years at 63,I'v been saving like crazy to enable to do this for around a decade.
So Im stuck in the job,a 7 weeks rota where I work 5 weekends in 7. So all my holidays go to watching City.I cant afford to go mon to friday, well i could but i would save nothing through losing weekend enhancements.

Hopefully,it will go quickly. Its one of the few things that keeps me going tbh.
