Sod it, I'm gonna put it out there.
Like most I like a beer, cask stout or porters are my favourite but my problem is that I simply do not stop once I get going. I have never been able to go and enjoy a couple of pints, I always want more which more often than not leads to me at best having a severe hangover that ruins the next day or like last night I don't get back home until the next day because I've fell asleep somewhere on route home.
It causes my missus to worry and brings about an anxiety as I cannot remember large parts of the night before.
I rarely drink midweek, only really when City are playing and I'll have a few pre match but every weekend I'll drink and every weekend I'll have the intention to keep it moderate but it just doesn't happen.
It's got to the point where my wife just leaves me in the pub nowadays if we've gone for a 'couple' after the game rather than us have an argument about it being my last one.
I think about abstaining and in my head I think I could but the reality is that I'd find it very difficult to. Pretty much everything I do socially involves a pub whether it's City, a gig or even something healthy like rambling that we try to do regularly providing I've not got a hangover or actually got home after being in the pub.
I do really enjoy a cask ale too so to abstain completely might be difficult. Gonna give it a go though and see what happens. I'm getting a bit old for falling asleep in bushes etc.
