Aldi/Lidl middle aisle offers and recommendations.

Brand snob are we?

If you said that a few years ago I'd have agreed but not anymore. Some of their Hand/power tools are good quality for the money. I'm not talking tradesman tools quality, although some are bordering being. Aldi offer a 3 year guarantee on their power tools, and they wouldn't if they were fall to bits bobbins quality.

I'm not a brand snob at all, as consumer I usually go off online reviews and quality is important for me.

I am just fully aware of their mis-selling of certain goods and have rationale to back it up.

Factories in China often leak specs and designs to Aldi and will produce for them at a lower cost using lower quality materials which don't support some of the features the packaging offers which deceives the customer.

Ultimately a lot of customers probably don't give a toss about the quality as they are paying very little for it and can always return said items.

On sale this Sunday so get your skates on and treat your loved one to this amazing perfume for a Valentine day treat.
Look at the reviews if your unsure, as the current batch they're releasing will get sold out in no time at all.
Some reviewers say it's a clone of the real Lancome LVEB... I score it 9/10.

Can't remember if it was lidle or aldi, but got an aftershave before that smelt just like Creed Aventis for 20e and lasted all day

I find the power tools (Parkside) to be pretty good. As good as, if not better than, Screwfix own brand stuff (which isn't bad either). I have a Parkside cordless 18v drill/driver which has had a lot of use and is still going strong 4 years later. Think it was about £30.

To prove I'm not a brand snob @BlueMoonRisin' I am going to go off this recommendation and buy a few DIY tools at some point from Aldi :).

How do you mean?

I get what you're saying about online reviews, I do too if I can. And if a product I(sometimes check for reviews) fancy has no reviews it's an on the spot yes or no decision. I say yes or no because it's a no and you decide to go back then it has often gone, depends what it is of course and stock availablity.

a couple of years ago I was moving house and clearing my garage out and I came across a mini bench grinder/polisher. Was stuck in my garage several years and never used it and I thought to myself my mate has a workshop in his garage and would appreciate it. Took it round and said "here you are mate I've brought you a present you might appreciate pal"....." what the bloody hell is that pile of crap, effin Aldi rubish!"... He opened it exanined it.... Told him not to be so fuckin' ungrateful. He smiled saying thank you. 18 months later I said "how are you getting on with that pile of crap I gave you"..... Bloody smashing that, mate, cheers". He'd certainly used it often as it look well worn in.

Another friend bought a firepit from there and decided it to sell it after not using it for a while. Advertised it on eBay as new still boxed and got £20 over the cost in the store. The firepit sold out within a few days in Aldi so to get 20 quid on top of the price, well someone must think there stuff is desirable.
