Aldi/Lidl middle aisle offers and recommendations.

OMG ... its one of the very few foods I miss from UK, wow!!!!

Strange we dont get it here at LIDL stores in NL.
One thing I love about Aldi is their "national weeks " so they'll have a Greek week or German week
Last time I was in Germany my sister in law showed me Aldi's offer leaflet which was advertising British week, baked beans, battered fish and other exotic foodstuffs

Funny you should mention food snobs, my mate refuses to set foot in Aldi/Lidl as 'everything is cheap & nasty' even when they have things like real ale weeks. Gets proper pissed off when I call him out. He's proper Bucket/Bouquet at times.

We tend to do 90% of our (well actually I do at the moment due to Mrs Moon shielding) food shopping there, usually fill the freezer with meat from a local farm shop and have the odd trip into a Tesco's or similar for things that aren't available in the value stores.

Don’t do it you get what you pay for Dewalt all the way
I have a mixed bag when it comes to tools. Some high end and some Aldi/Screwfix stuff. If you dont work in the trade and are buying something you might use a handful of times it just makes no sense to get the top branded product at 4x the cost of a non brand thing. That said I have bought some cheap stuff that i regret as I have ended up using it loads.

Sewing machine bag last week.

My excuse is Mrs Moon is shielding and saw it in the magazine so picked it up for her on my weekly as the doors open hunter gathering trip at Lidl.

Last thing for me I think were some socks about 6 months ago.

The middle isle is a strange thing if it's something you actually want great but I'd imagine there's lots of impulse buys made as well for stuff that will just sit in a cupboard at home made by people.

Oh and if going in Lidl make sure you use the app they have.
The app and the Lidl Plus app - coupons every week!

DeWalt is largely tradesman quality tools and their prices reflect this. A budding DIY-er would not be prudent to by tools costing upto(say) 10X the price of generic brand/home brand gear from middle aisles and places such Home bargains and the like.

But like I mentioned earlier, some of the stuff in Aldi and Lidl are good value and sturdy enough with a 3 year guarantee.

They do sets of drill bits -wood/metal and masonry. Not DeWalt quality but for household and amateur DIY I can't fault them. When I was self employed I used to buy top quality gear, drill bits to drill through galvanized steelwork and core drilling stuff and proper power/hand tools etc etc.

Specialist gear isn't cheap, but Aldi/Lidl is and decent quality nowadays.

Haha yeah, brand snobs. I remember going to Aldi in Hyde opposite the bus station at the old store not long after it had opened. I was putting the shopping in my car and I noticed an elderly couple putting their shopping in the back of their SL500. Thought nothing of it till I spotted them transferring the shopping from Aldi bags to Sainsbury's bags probably so they could keep up with the Joneses when they're walking down the garden path.

Aldi grub in Sainsbury's bags, YCNMIU! Bloody peasant brand snobs . Lol.

*Edit. I was voice texting and it's picked up hold it instead of Aldi. Fuckin' Google accent snob I think; )
